    Dealer is offering me between 2300 and 2900 for trade in with Yamaha MT-10. That looks to be low!

    That is a very low offer but that is what dealers will do. I am not surprised.
    $3900 would be a fair price.

    KBB lists $2925 trade in and $4260 retail. Find a number somewhere in the middle that you can accept and sell it private party, since you know the dealer won't pay more than KBB trade value.
