  1. FS: 2011 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 Black/Red, Topsham Maine, $5000 obo

    General For Sale / Trade
I am sadly selling my 2011 Ninja 1000. It has around 6000 miles on it, new tires, 190/55 rear, never dropped, no scratches. I no longer have time to ride it enough to justify keeping it. I am the original owner and have a clean title in hand. Bike has always been garage kept and on a battery...
  2. need audio in the helmet

    3rd Gen Z1000/Z1000SX/Ninja 1000
I use cheap $15 "iFrogz" ear buds from Wal-Mart. They sound just fine, block out much of the wind noise (its not dead silent, which you don't really want anyway - need to be able to hear sirens and whatnot). Music sounds decent and most importantly, they fit well under a helmet. At $15 they...
  3. Removing Ninja Decals

    3rd Gen Z1000/Z1000SX/Ninja 1000
Does anyone have a picture of a Black/Red N1K with the Ninja decals removed?
  4. Removing Ninja Decals

    3rd Gen Z1000/Z1000SX/Ninja 1000
Nice thanks. I am still a little nervous... I dunno how committed I am to removing it yet - I am just not in love with the Ninja logo. IMO this bike is so much more sophisticated than the idea of "one of those Ninjas"
  5. Removing Ninja Decals

Thanks. No idea why that didn't come up, I searched for "removing decal"
  6. Removing Ninja Decals

    3rd Gen Z1000/Z1000SX/Ninja 1000
I did a search with no results. How easy is it to remove the Ninja logo on the fairings? I would much rather have a "ZX1000SX" logo, but I don't want to leave a bunch of glue residue behind. Sadly, I don't really have access to a hairdryer but I am sure I could borrow one if necessary. Any...
  7. Adjust the chain and aligning rear tire

    3rd Gen Z1000/Z1000SX/Ninja 1000
Thanks. I was trying to do what the manual said, which was to loosen both pinch bolts and adjust as necessary but it was an impossible task because they one side was moving slightly different than the other. I am fairly new to "wrenching." I used to have shops do my work because they were the...
  8. Adjust the chain and aligning rear tire

    3rd Gen Z1000/Z1000SX/Ninja 1000
Any trick to lining up the notches? When I tightened the chain, I tried to align the notches but every time I turned the left one the right one would turn slightly and vise versa. I finally got it close, but one notch is right on and the other is just behind the notch. Is this going to be a...

  10. Leovince exhaust

Where do you find the G&Gs? I am not finding them anywhere, and Google only shows a video.
  11. Freaking out !! N1K Engine Ticking ?

    3rd Gen Z1000/Z1000SX/Ninja 1000
So how are we supposed to know if its bad ticking? I can hear it almost always below about 30mph. Above that and its inaudible. Ever since reading this thread I have become self conscious about the ticking... I don't even know if it did it to begin with.
  12. Can anyone recommend a stand for N1K?

    3rd Gen Z1000/Z1000SX/Ninja 1000
I can tell you NOT to get a MotoStance M-6 Rear Stand. I ordered it from an online vendor and the picture didn't clearly show the "Universal" mount which has posts used to lift the swing arm. It does NOT fit the Ninja. I am waiting for a refund so I can order a T-Rex-Racing stand.
  13. Stock N1K front wheel lift, not using clutch

    3rd Gen Z1000/Z1000SX/Ninja 1000
Would be hard to believe if you crack the throttle open in first it wouldn't come up... although I haven't tried it myself. I really don't care to get the front wheel of the ground. There is so much torque in first it seems a wheelie would be poorly controlled.
  14. Anyone Run Delkevic?

    Daily Ride
I had one when I had my SV650. No complaints about it. It was finely crafted, sounded good, and a great price for what you get. Slip-on manufacturers must have a ridiculous markup... I can't imagine the materials they use are even close to worth what they charge although I have nothing to...
  15. Introduction/Impressions of First long ride

    3rd Gen Z1000/Z1000SX/Ninja 1000
Don't worry yourself about the power. As long as you aren't wringing out everything she has in first, you are not going to feel overwhelmed. Obviously you will start out more cautious and slow on the clutch and throttle, that is only natural. Unless you are a total dub, I don't see how...
