  3. FOR SALE: Joe Rocket Phoenix jacket

    General For Sale / Trade
Blue/Black, XL: I bought this jacket last summer and have worn it maybe 10-15 times. I removed the three tacky looking white plastic Joe Rocket emblems that you see in the picture. Also, there is some minor fraying of the fabric in a couple of spots along the zipper and on the cuffs and a...
  4. Metisse Hugger from WHA

    ZR-7 Accessories
Re: Hawkeoiler No, I ended up not getting it mostly due to the cost and having more tubes, cables, etc. cluttering up the bike. I did replace the chain and sprockets a couple of months ago and I finally found a chain lube that does not leave a gooey mess (Belray), so I'm ok with it now.
  5. AMAZING Honda ad

    Off Topic/Fun
No computer animation used at all. That's what's really amazing about this ad. All done real time with real Accord parts. Here's how they did it: http://www.dailytelegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2003/04/13/nhonda13.xml&sSheet=/news/2003/04/13/ixhome.html

  8. Bought a new Vstrom!

    Other Bikes
Thanks guys for all the well wishes. I had two reservations about this bike - one was the height and the other was the looks. If the thing was any taller it wouldn't work for me at all. As it is, it's borderline. When straddling it I'm not on my tiptoes, but I am on the balls of my feet...

Well, there's a new pony in the stable! Red Rocket, meet The Silver Bullet: http://home.attbi.com/~fsikes8/vstrom1.jpg http://home.attbi.com/~fsikes8/vstrom2.jpg Yup, I took the plunge. Reason: I find I'm turning into much more of a sport touring rider. Longer trips, multi-day touring...

  12. Finally changed the fork oil and lubed the steering stem

    ZR-7 Maintenance
Well, I finally got around to it at almost 31,000 miles (sorry, too lazy for pics). The job was not as difficult as I thought - it does makes sense to do the two together. The only difficulty was removing the o-ring from the top steering stem bearing. The trick was to pound the stem down with...
  13. Just introducing myself :)

    Daily Ride
The "S" stands for "semi-faired", same as the Suzuki SV650/SV650S. Now, everyone feel better?
  14. Have You Ever Run?

    Off Topic/Fun
Welcome to the real world. No worries Triple, you know we love ya man! But you can be smart about this. Work around the problem, don't become part of the problem. If you try to outrun the cops you become part of the problem. It's going to escalate and sooner or later life will...
  15. Have You Ever Run?

    Off Topic/Fun
Well put Martin. Some of us here are a little bit older and (hopefully) wiser and actually consider the motorcycle community at large, not just ourselves in the way we behave in public. But I think we can forgive Triple for some of his youthful exuberance and opinions. He feels he and his...
