    Question How to pronounce Graeme?

I've been wondering this for some time now...

How on earth is your name pronounced?

    I can't tell if it's:

    grey-ME GHOUL'd

    or

    GREEM GOLD

    or

    GRAY'm GOO'd

    or what have you.

    Byron Bay is pretty obviously

    BUY-ron BAY

    just like Australia is obviously

    gnu-ZEE-land

but your name still leaves me wondering.

    I believe it's "GRAY'm GHOUL'd" (or GOLD).
    That's just my guess.

You're gonna get a from GG and Jessica and the rest of the folks from Ozland. Apologize NOW!

I always thought it was pronounced like the cracker, but a little more like what Laura said.

And Graeme's last name as in Elliott Gould the actor from Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice and M*A*S*H

    Any relation to you Graeme?

That would be like pronouncing Puerto Rico as MECKS-eh-coe (or Meh-HEE-Coe, for my Hispanic/Latino friends).

Think this is about as close to pronouncing it without asking a born and bred Scot. Upon listening to one you should be further confused.

    Scottish? Wouldn't that make it gr-AACH-m GUU-ld?

Poor Graeme! Look at all this fuss being made over him. I hope he replies soon so we don't embarass ourselves any further by continuing to butcher the pronunciation of his name.

I should be especially wary. With a name like Randolph, I've heard everything under the sun like Randolf, Randall, Rudolph, Rachmaninoff, Reinheitsgebot ... you name it.

    I vote for Gray-am Ghouled.

I can't believe no one pointed out how funny it is that this post ended up in maintenance...how appropriate

AH HA ! I knew it. Dinner it is then. Forget the stupid snow blower, you'll be here in the Summer anyhow. If you must, I'll let you mow the lawn.

Will I need to study up on Oz cuisine, or are you ready for something different ?

By the way, I never had a problem saying Graeme Gould, so can I be first on your American Tour.
