so how far off are the lowwer mounting holes..a lil bit or a bunch?...i had a hunch i was "off" on the turn signals...seems it wasnt by much...as i was working from pic's and had "hoped" id clear the back side of them...but..thats the drawback of not having the stock fender to work from..sorry its not a better fit
It looks sturdy!
Strong enough to carry the kitchen sink, literally.
when i had it on my bike i picked up the back of the bike with just it...alot of that is in the key of the 4 point mounting..those 4 mounting points help make it a tank...but yeah you could stand on it ..hell flip your bike and i bet the bike takes more than the rack LOL
Wow, looks pretty good...
Hey, sh0rtlife, you should always get your money first before delivery
nah id rather make someone happy first...proves ive done a good job....ive been screwed over enuf times to have gotten a mentality of..if im not enjoying what im doing there is ZERO point in doing it...stressing over making a profit and where the money is ...have fun enjoy life and dont stress the lil things
Didn't take us long at all last night to finish up the fitting. Drilled out one of the lower mounting holes, not quite enough room horizontally. Just like grinding down the spacers, these are all very minor tweaks. Took less adjusting than I expected from a one-off home built rack!
Everything should bolt up now...
Woot! Now getting the bike back together. Have the tail light to re install and the big plastic tail to bolt back down.
Re route all the wires back through for the turn signals and the extra brake light I'm wiring in with a Back Off modulator. My Ninja was being very patient. She's unridable at the moment waiting on a new rear shock, which is sitting on the work bench just out of frame. One project at a time!
The saddlebags still work! Routed under the rack like this they sit too far forward for a passenger. Which is fine, the ZR-7 does solo duty for the most part. Easy to move the bags back by putting the straps over the rack if we need a pillion seat.
Next we will bolt a cutting board to the rack to give us a nice flat surface to work with. Her current Motopak tank bag, which is ginormous, will move back to the rear rack. Found a great, smaller Motopak tank bag on ADVRider earlier this week, hopefully will be here tomorrow.
Sh0rtlife, thanks again!

Looks great.
So basically, you have a back rack plus you can install the Seahorse hard cases on the same rack made by sh0rtlife. Pretty cool. The turn signals will probably be in the way, though, if you are installing the side hard cases.

We will have to add to the rear rack in order to make a good mount for the hard cases, but it will be easy to integrate.

well im glad your happy..and when it comes time for hard side cases youve got a SOLID frame to mount off of...a few arm/tabs comming out to mount em and youll be done..i wish it would have worked out a bit better around the turn signals but i was shooting from the hip lol
i want to see it with the seat in place (top down) and a side shot...im curious to see how much the corbin fit is back there vs stock seat...another minor variable
