You could get about 160hp at the rear tire.... if you do a simple engine swap. LOL

You could install a thinner head gasket, factory racing intake cam, TRE, pcIII usb, Muzzy sidwinder exhaust, and some K&N filters like I did.

The motor is based on the zx9r.... you can use the cams, flywheel, stator, ect.

Slips will give you a better power-to-weight ratio, better sound, maybe a horse or two.

Full system, with a-b mod, filter, pc3 custom mapped.... a better top-end. Incorporate some zx9r bits, port/polish, you might get around 145-150 rear wheel.

Muzzy big-bore... worth a few for sure.

You'll never slay a zx10r or gixxer 1k. Put your money into Suspension!!!

personally i think you will get more bang for your buck, as far as actual fun and 140 mph performance, with a gearing change. you can spend thousands and not get the same "feeling" you get from a 15/44
The act of riding is a form of meditation, because the concentration that's required to safely ride a motorcycle tends to focus the mind in a way that eliminates other mental distractions that might interfere with the mission. This creates a single-mindedness that, in effect, displaces the continuous stream of thoughts that normally flow through our consciousness.

TURBO, build it and run it
NOS- run it enough and you will need to do a "simple" engine swap
    zx9r cams
    zx10r injectors
    K&N throughout
    Airbox mod,
    full exhaust
    zx10r wheels
    zx6r suspension
and a strong right wrist, you could take a r1 or a gsx1000, of course you drop the coin on all that stuff and you may as well buy an R1, of course the z is much better than any other bike so spend away

16/42 is stock on your 03. I recently changed from 15/44 to 15/42 so just 1 down in the front and that was a huge difference. I realize what I'm about to say is "unhooliganish" for a hooligan bike but: the 15/44 was a little too "twitchy" for me when cracking the throttle. I also bought a 17 tooth front sprocket at the same time but haven't changed it yet (I'm enjoying the way it is right now).

It will accelerate faster but that's not what I meant.

It's not that big of a deal but while getting back on the throttle mid corner the torque is instantaneous and a small wrist movement is a bigger jump in power.

I'm not a canyon carver so I'm perfectly happy not having monster torque on tap at any revs.

Not to mention on the 30 mile freeway commute the revs dropped by 400 rpm so my teeth don't chatter anymore.

The +2 rear for me was a great mod!
08 Z1K: Two bros carbon slipons, PC3 w/custom map, gutted and wrapped stock header, sammana systems servo motor delete, ORANGE puig screen, CRG blindsight mirrors, +2 rear sprocket, speedo healer, uni pod filters. In early stages: Turbo kit.
