Neil, are you missing your dust seal in that pic? From this angle it looks like a bearing showing there.

The dust seal is in there, it sits a little further in than on the stock Z wheel.

Please make a complete set and sell it! I just got a killer deal on a set of wheels and I got a good axle. I am having trouble finding a reliable source locally. Please let me know.

Is the '06 ZX10R front rim a direct replacement for an '05-06 636 front rim?

I guess I'll be the test rat this time. I'm going to try the different bearings for using the stock Z axle with the zx10r rear wheel. Talked to a friend that works for "Bearing Distributers" and he thinks it will be just fine(lets hope). I'll let you guys know once I get it put together next week an post some pics.

The hub is narrower on the ZX10 so you will still need new spacers for the axle and also to offset the rear caliper.

I figured out that the stock bearings from the Z1000 front wheel will fit in the 05 zx10r rear wheel perfectly. I already fitted the new bearings in the zx10r front wheel, and have decided to double them up on account of them being narrower. I have access to a machine shop and will make all of the new spacers at one time. I'll post up some pics of it all when I am finished.

Do a search for "Z-king" or maybe "Z-King" for the zx10r engine swap details.

I bought a Z and promised myself I'm going to leave it alone.... these threads aren't helping me keep that promise.

    zx10r wheel swap pics

Here are a few pics of my swap. Did the 636 front suspension at the same time, so the bike looks much different to me now. Handles much better too! I think the black wheels give it a more sinister look. I'll take some better pictures in the daylight and post them in the "Post a pic of your ride II" thread.

just a thought, but what if you ran a complete zx10 rear end with swingarm, wouldnt that be easier or would the alignment be way off? I am thinking about doing this over the winter but I want the nice fat swingarm too. The zx10 swingarm goes fairly cheap on ebay $50 if you ask me thats a steel. Luckily a family member owns a machine shop so if I start wrestling this project I will be sure to make all extra spacers incase anyone else might want to do the swingarm swap.

the problem with the ZX10 swing is the shock offset is dif than on theZ swing. I am sure it could be done but with some welding to the frame.
