20160131_095850.jpgColor-rite has the paint your looking for. Your blue is most likely what they call "Candy lightening blue" I believe a touch-up pen is about $17 +s/h. Check their website for exact details. On larger pieces that don't abut original paint (my chin fairing, swing arm, etc.), I went the cheaper route with a base coat and clear coat from Dupli-color called "Metal Specks Ocean Blue" but it has slightly larger and more metal flake. (as seen by the covers I don't use for that reason)

If you go to the parts diagram for your bike, look at the fuel tank, or body panals.

I used a 200 zr7, in blue. This part number is for the american bike, so yours may be different...

If I wanted a tank for that 2000 zr7, I order part number 51082-5025-E1. The "E1" is the paint code.

If you google "Kawasaki paint code e1", you end up with what carryall said, "E1 CANDY LIGHTNING BLUE"

I'll be damned, good info RC. I didn't realize that suffix (E1) was the paint code. So evidently the only color available in 2000 was blue for a ZR7 or there would be other suffix numbers listed also?

Yes, I figured that out when ordering painted parts for my Ninja 1000. 17b was green, and 6b was black

Its nice to know when you get into the odd colors...like black. Is it real black? Metallic black, etc?

If you have the "17p", you know its their metallic green as opposed to the really good, kawasaki green.

Also fun to see how the colors have been around , forever, and keep getting recycled.

It would be fun to know just how much (E1) paint they used, for zr7's. I feel like every other bike I see is a blue zr7, even in my s-town city.

YEP. Orange, Purple were kinda 70's thing, and then they came back in the 2000's. Then different whites, Now Blacks are popular. LOL Color trends I mean.
