Here are several tire links, most from major manufacturers.

Metzeler Tips
excerpt from Metzeler:
Where are your air pressure listings, and can I run different pressures then you suggest?
We list the minimum air pressures for most bikes sold in the North Amercian on the web site in the brochure download area. We also have a chart in the brochure that gives suggestions for running corrected air pressures for when you add a load and or a passenger. A simple rule of thumb is to always run the pressures on your street motorcycle tires towards the maximum listed on the sidewall. By doing this you will increase the life of the tire over it's useful life.

Avon Tire Tips
excerpt from Avon:
Correct-pressures– Your tyre is designed to perform perfectly at a very specific pressure. Inflated correctly it provides the optimum contact patch for superb roadholding and water dispersal, as well as giving good handling, comfort and lifespan characteristics.
As for track riding:
Sport Rider Tips
For TRACK use, not street. For those of you running lower pressures, I would take a careful, close look and make sure you are not running them so low that the tire shape is not maintained.
Canyon Chasers
What about tire pressure and size? This one does not depend. For almost all cases go with the manufacturer's recommendations. Believe it or not, those designers and engineers in Japan, Italy, and Germany know a lot more about motorcycle design than we think we do. Your best and safest bet for motorcycle performance and handling is to run the recommended pressure. You can deviate slightly depending on what you want from your tire, but the closer you stay to manufacturer's guidelines, the happier you will be. Dropping pressure provides more traction but can compromise stability and increases wear. Increasing pressure decreases traction and can compromise stability but decreases wear. Also, check your tire pressure frequently.
