I was going to order a seat but it is costing 259.00 but I thought it was 229.00? I will buy it if it is still 229.00 am I not doing it right?

    My seat re-worked

I took my Z to a local company in Maiden, NC. Save yourself some money check these guys out. They re-worked my seat and the recovered it with the factory cover. I feel like I am on a Lazy Boy now instead of a tree stump.
The first photo is stock, the second is the reworked seat. Don't fall prey to the mass producers. I mean we all have what we like, these guys are just an option and a FANTASTIC one at that. Visit their site and see for yourself. Oh yea I forgot to mention, they have everything the big companies have except for the high prices.
I forgot to mention, it was only $100.

What did it do to the ride height? I am a shortie, but I like the looks of that. But, I won't do it if it raises the seat height.

I am 5'9. It feels just as it did before as far as the height of the seat. After I had the seat done, I took an all day trip to Deal's Gap here in North Carolina. That day alone to and back was approximately 490 miles. 490 comfortable miles.

That looks really comfortable compared to the stock seat. Did you ship only the front seat, and what kind of "mod" did you order? i see on their site that they have many different foam modifications.

There is only one $100 for the rider seat (Memory Foam Modification — $100.00 * Plus return shipping).

I put only about 60 miles on the Z1000 today after not riding since the beginning of November (bad winter ) and after 30 minutes I was thinking the seat is a piece of concrete. Does it really make a big difference if "fixed", either reworked or aftermarket? I would like to keep the look of the stock seat and I won't make it through another season with it the way it is

I live a few minutes away from these guys. I rode in and they re-worked it on the spot. I did the $100 memory foam upgrade. 1 week later, I went on ride to Deal's Gap which is about 4 hours from my house. That day alone, I travelled roughly 570 miles and spent probably 10 good hours on the seat, I have no complaints. Of course after about 8 hours I was still hurting. That backside wasn't use to riding that long. I wouldn't have lasted half that long with the factory foam.
