I will get me some Campbells myself as soon as I get $1000. There is a great video on YouTube with the Campbells on a Z1000 and they sound SICK

They advertise the cans for $1060.00. Anyway, this guy told me that he could order them from the U.K. and that it would take 8 weeks. 3 weeks to make them, then 5 weeks for them to ship and arrive. I told this guy I would have to think about that, due to the price. He put me on hold for a minute. Came back to the phone and told me "the exchange rate just dropped, I can sell these to you for $950.00+shipping $80.00. Buying them directly from Campbells was still over $300.00 bucks cheaper and somehow they would arrive 4-5 weeks earlier. The bad thing, the guy in Arizona said I was the 5th Z1000 rider that called wanting to order these. Take some advice if your looking at these cans to purchase, order them directly from Campbell's.

Just trying to save some folks some money.

They have the stainless and a matte finish. I am not sure about the possibility of powdercoating.

    2 strokes

When I was 16 I had a 350 Kawasaki 2 stroke.Bored her a little put wiesco pistons and had the rotary valves cut and geared it for the 1/4 mile. That was in the 60's.None of the muscle cars or Harleys or any other bike could keep up with me in th 1/4.It was a wheelie machine.Remember going around the block on the back wheel.Ran the 1/4 in the mid 12's.Then I got the 500 2 stroke, now that was a mean machine.Had to make my own exspansion chambers. The Kawasaki dealers had signs up saying if you want noise go buy a pot and spoon, but if you want speed get a Kawasaki. Mocking the Harleys.Didn't get me another bike until my 2003 Z.They didn't make anything I liked till the Z.The good old days sure miss um.

    Mine are on their way..

I have been talking to John over the past month trying to decide what I wanted to do. I talked to RichD a little and considered ordering them shorter and I have now decided to go with the original full length. Their are two finishes available, Polished or Brushed aluminum. This decision also took me 2 weeks to decide but I finially decided that I am going to go with the brushed. I have pictures of the burshed that John sent me and I will try and get some posted tomorrow when I get home.

I too also wanted to keep the traditional quad-exhasut look going and I have always had my eye on these but they werent available for the 08's. Then I saw that they were and that was it.

I should expect to see my exhaust in the next week so as soon as it arrives I will get pics up for everyone. Also I am going to send some pictures to John with hopes that he will post them on his site so future customers can have a few better pictures to look at.

....on a side note if you are bored, go to Cambpells website and check out their exhaust for the 07 R1. I want to buy an R1 just so I can get that exhaust.. Flipping Sexy!

    They're HEEEYER!!!!!!!

Well, got the Campbells in on Tuesday. After having a lapse in mental abilities yesterday, I finally got them on. Funny thing is, I took the bike apart, started putting on the Campbells. Campbells didn't fit for some reason. I put the bike back together, yes reconnecting the butterfly valve wires and all. Later on yesterday, I was letting my cousin listen to them on youtube and noticed something peciluar. I yelled out a four letter word that quickly earned me the chance of testing my quickness by dodging a can of Pepsi One full, unopened, and thrown like Nolan Ryan at me by the wife. I quickly looked up RichD's post of his Sidewinders. Low and behold, I was putting them on WRONG! Round #2 was about to take place. Got my stuff and began wrenching. 15 minutes later......It was almost dark and I didn't have a chance to clean anything up. I will post up some better picks when I get a chance to get some in the daylight.

What should you take away from all this Never underestimate the power of stupidity.

I still have the silencers in and really like the low rumble they have. I am debating taking them out though. check youtube, couple clips up for the Z with and without the silencers.

I checked them but Youtube generally does not do anything justice in the sound department.

    Congrats on the new pipes

Are there 4 db killers? Could you leave 1 in each side to be kind of halfway?

I am going to play a little with it on Saturday. I did notice today that with silencers in, this thing rumbles upon decel. No popping, just rumbling. They sound deep going down the road. I was kinda questioning how quite they were until I noticed people turning to see what was coming.

Rhino----Yea, each pipe has a db killer. I am going to take out the bottom 2 this weekend and see how that sounds. Then I am going to take out the other 2 to see how loud they are. But, like I said previously, they rumble with them in and they're throaty. I will try to get a sound bite of of all of it.
