These BS rivets are a PITA to take out. I got lucky with three of them and was able screw them out...lefty loosey, haha. The other three I used a straight edge eyeglass screwdriver to get between the "screw" and the base ( took a little bit of coaxing, but it did work), as I loosen the screw with the phillips driver, I pried down with the eyeglass driver. I'm definitely not using that same type of rivet when I reassemble.

Thanks, I'll give it another go this weekend. I looked for a source of replacements here in the Uk and found that they were £1.05 EACH + £3 postage..... I may have to find alternatives if I break any.

Yeah, it's a shocker what those little buggers cost! The ones I bought have two recessed areas, opposite of each other so you can get a hold of them real easy to take them out. Similar to the same type of rivets you would find on a GM brand car. The particular example I'm referring to is the rivets that held the wheel liners in place on my G8, which is the same as the Vauxhall VXR8 for you, axgriffi.

Shogun, I'm liking this signature picture better....reminds me of what my Z looked like before I stripped it down to the subframe.

Well the tail is reassembled, I'm going for a ride today so I'll have pictures up in the next 24hrs or so. Turned out looking great! Really hides my smoked CA signal. Ended up having it done in black with orange pearl, so if the sun is just right, it has a copper-ish tone to it. It was like pulling teeth to get these damn pieces back and the undertail panel isn't buffed but it's in the shadows so you don't notice anyway.

You said it! Not exactly sure where Okinawa is located, but hope you were able to dodge that event, Shogun. My condolences for Japan...

We are just under the mainland to the Southwest. We had Tsunami warnings and small evacs, but nothing serious!! Mainland is bad though. Its a very sad time right now.

    Stabby,

I've been slacking. The weather here is bad through Tuesday and I need to get the bike cleaned up before I take any. I can't show off a dirty Z, just wouldn't be right. Check back in a few days.
