Drag Racing the Zed
Well I drag raced my Z today, and my best time was a 12:114 @ 116MPH, I have a Slip on Leo Vince GP pipe, and a power commander, it's not mapped though, also the track is at 5280 feet altitude, any of you guys dragged? and if so what were the times, also any advice on cheap mods that'll increase HP?

The only track I've ever run on was also at 5,300 ft. Your E.T. is just like mine.

I took mine a couple times. Best time was 11.31 @ 124mph. Its all in the launch! If I were to get better at it the bike would run high tens. Also, I picked up a tenth and 2mph with clutchless shifts.

Yeah, it definitely comes down to how fast you get off the line. My reaction times were horrible and my 60ft times just as bad. My best ET was 12.013 @ 118.86mph. I don't know the elevation, but it was at Rockingham International Dragway in Rockingham, NC. I've gotten used to riding the bike at high rpms and twisting the throttle a lot more since then, so if I could get a good launch I could knock a second and a half off that time...

My best was right around an 11.5, though my buddy beat me by .2 all because he has a better launch than I do. apparently you should be fighting to keep the front tire down, don't lift your feet until your almost ready to shift to second, and run all the way to red line!

My best was an 11.07 @ 121mph. I really need to clutchless shift to get my mph higher. My 60' times were 1.77 that's where you make up most of your time. I'm stock besides 2 brother slip ons.
The_attitude what do you have done to your bike to make 144rwhp besides tuned??? Please elaborate!! |

This thread inspired me to go back to the strip with the Z again. My launch is getting better and I almost pulled off my first 10 with the last run. Here are the numbers
R/T: -.060 (whoops )60': 1.891 330: 4.799 1/8: 7.176 MPH: 103.14 1000: 9.272 1/4: 11.065 MPH: 124.98 Oh so close. I'm going to have to keep going this summer until I get that 10 sec run...it's just how I am lol.

I am seriously contemplating taking my Z to the strip in a week or so for test and tune. All I am looking to do is strapping the front.
