Looks like you had some serious time fabricating that all up. Good job

Nice looking setup. Oh and for the halo's did you bake your headlight assembly to get it apart? I just bought a couple CCFL computer fans today that I plan on using for some halo's. Gonna be installing them in a week or so, however long it takes to receive them. Just curious how hard it was to get the headlight apart to get them in, and what size did you use? I ordered the 120 mm which will be pretty big but I thought the 80 mm would be too small. Whatever info you have should be helpful for the job though...

120mm would be good for the stock headlight set up... but since I went with projectors... the 80mm one would actually work better since it's slightly bigger than 3 inches... the projector diameter is 3 inches... so it'd work out perfect if I used the 80mm fan CCFL lights. But I went with red Electroluminous (EL) wires instead because I already had some ready......... I am swapping to orange LEDs with a acrylic ring as soon as the orange LEDs get here.
I finished everything on the installation today, the lights look great, and finally got the solenoid wiring to work. I'll post pix with it installed and the picture of the cut off and highbeam tmw, it looks SICK!

Still, most cops don't know that either. Don't worry about what's sold on e-bay. In the EU you can buy these things in a place where it's not only common knowledge that they're illegal, but where it's also illegal to sell them unless they're clearly labelled 'not for road use'. Never seen a trader prosecuted yet. Rob |

Hmmm, Idk about that then... it's legal in America... since I see R6s and many many other bikes fitted with projectors before...
well... I guess it might not be legal... the cops just never bother to stop them.......

Great job!
....the "Angel Eyes" must look awesome around dusk, & do you have the HID's so they are both on for Low & Hi beam? Also, looking forward to the short video of that "cowl pull-down" in operation.

As for the Headlight, the angel eyes are AWESOME at around dusk you're right. But at night, you cant see it with the headlight on... The headlight is wired so that both are on/off with the switch on the right hand under the kill switch... the highbeam is still controled with the old high/low toggle switch. These are Bi-Xenon projectors, meaning they have a solenoid that control a window that pulls open when it's highbeam, so both are on at the same time for both High and Low. All for $200 and some change for wiring and installation and a day's worth of fabrication and testing... Total about $240.... Here's some pictures at night....... First is lowbeam at my house... Notice the cut off :-P NICE! 2nd is highbeam at the house... very bright 3rd is a picture taken at my car at driver's level from 10 feet away... 4th is picture highbeam at car driver's level from 10 feet away... TOO bright... I believe it's a little blinding... but I will only use it out in the country alone.... gotta remember to toggle it down when someone pass...... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Good LORD !
....those are FLAME THROWERS !...Are you familiar with a little feature on some other bikes, called a flash to pass, generally a little toggle on the front side of the left control? Odd that it isn't available.....YET !

Yes, my friend's bike has it! I guess I can fabricate one up... it's just a little push button wired to the highbeam switch... pretty simplee to wire. I'll do it tmw.

can't figure out how to start a new thread to ask this message, so i'm asking here. I'm doing a custom bike using a z1000 front cowl. my question is: which bulb is the high and which is the low? i think it is left low, right high. (when sitting on the bike) is this correct?

Cant remember... if you can look around for pictures, I'm sure someone has a picture of his headlights on....
If you have the wiring... the Red/black wire is the one for the highbeam, and blue/black is the low beam............

Low Beam Side
When sitting on the bike, the right should be the low and left high. When I put my bike back together I wired the right as the high beam and I cant see in front of me with the switch on low. When I put it on high I can see in front of the bike. I installed 6k lights but still dont like them. I am looking at doing this mod, too many cars pull out on me at night and I sometimes overdrive the lights. Good luck.

This has got to be one of the BEST mod I did........ everyone compliments it.... it looks amazing, and I feel a LOT more confident driving around at night.
If you drive around at night a bit, I'd recommend this mod, not too much problem in the installation, but I'd recommend getting a 2.5 inch or 2 inch projector kit instead of 3 inch.... that way you can fit it into the stock housing and it'd be easier.
