Integrated tail light problem

I ordered an integrated tail light for the 03 Z1000 and managed to install it and wire everything.

Now everything works, blinkers, tail light on, but the brake light doesn't turn on.

The unit came with 5 wires. 2 for the signals and 3 for the tail/brake lights

the signals were blue and yellow, and those are working fine.

The tail/brake lights are black, red, and white, now I assumed black is ground, red and the tail light, and white would be the brake light, and wired everything that way, tested it and everything works perfect except for the brake light, it doesn't go brighter.

Anyone has any idea what I could have done wrong when wiring it, or has any input would be greatly appreciated.

BTW I picked it up from D2Moto not bad for $49.90 - any coupon codes you might have.

when i installed it, the sun was hitting the taillight, so didnčt really notice how bright it was, i just noticed it was getting brighter, but when I turned it on at night it was pretty bright, so might have to do some rewiring and check the switches.

thanx for the tip

Doh, had the brake and tail wires reversed, the sun was hitting the LED lights and couldn't really tell how bright it was.

Thanx for the tip

Hey does your running light stay on while your blinkers are on? My buddy ordered this same kit and when he would turn his turn signal on the opposite side running light would also blink red. We just put a 100 ohm resistor on the running light and it stopped it from blinking, but now when the the turn signal is on the other side is completely unlit vs the running light being lit as well. Pretty sure its supposed to be blinking one side, red other side - not blinking one side, blank the other. He is fine with it, just curious if it was a faulty light or if thats the way it was supposed to be. Thanks for any info.

That is the way it is supposed to be, have the same thing happening.

Did your friend's harness plug right in, or did he have to cut it?

It did not plug right in, we had to cut and splice. The guy from D2 said he must have sent the wrong one but we just made it work to avoid the hassle of sending it back and what not. As far as the running light I told my friend it was supposed to be that way but he you youtube'd it ans saw the running light on the whole time and was all worried about it. I told him its probably the +$100 ones that do that and to be happy with his cheap one.
