Well speaking from experience I've really liked all the stuff I've bought from Fieldsheer. Waterproof jacket, waterproof pants, waterproof boots, a leather jacket and a full leather suit all have been very nice. Not to mention they're usually a little cheaper than some of the bigger names like Alpinestar, Dainese, etc etc.

i have an icon strongarm jacket that is on the warmer side but not too bad. plus it kinda looks the part when im riding my cruiser. i also have an icon merc stage 3 that i love for warmer weather and its more of a sportbike jacket for when i ride my z1000.
either way i would suggest looking at cycle gear in okc. they dont have a huge selection but you have like 14 days or something to exchange it if you dont like it. and they have some of their stuff marked down quite a bit sometimes. ajax kawasaki dont have a huge selection either but their prices are awesome on icon stuff. or it was last summer anyway. bought my merc there which everyone else sells for $190 and it was like $120 and not on sale. shawnee honda has a huge selection and usually once a year bout this time they have a huge sale where u can take like 40-60% off one item.

Wilsons Leather has a fancy jacket that is really nice but if you want a good deal from guy who stands by his product. He is down in the Ozarks but he will only charge 4 bucks for shipping. I bought my chaps from him and they are good to go. https://realbikers.com/

I have 2 Fieldsheer leathers for spring and fall and a Firstgear Kilamanjaro for winter riding. All have armor and are designed for riding. I got all of them on Ebay and all were discounted at least 30% - 50% from the retail price.

I have a Joe Rocket Ballistic 2.0 that I got off of newenough.com for a song. All leather except for two zip out panels that run up the inside of the arms, under the pits and down the sides. They seem to provide good air flow, but I haven't worn it over about 85 degrees, so it may be a little toasty this summer.
But, to me a little too hot is better than a little skin graft.

I have a premium Wilson Leather motorcycle jacket. The leather is very thick. It is good looking jacket with four zipper vents and zipper sleeves for warm days on the road. There are two big inside pockets and two outside pockets. The liner zips out for warm weather. It has a built in neck wrap for the real cold days. It wasn't cheap at just under $300. I know this jacket will last for many years making it worth the price.
For protection above 80 degrees, the Joe Rocket type mesh jackets are probably the best. My leather only ventilates when I am moving. Also, for what it's worth, my insurance has a $1,000 coverage for protective gear replacement. That is one of those things that sometimes gets over looked. The cost of replacing a helmet, jackets, chaps, gloves, and boots can add up to a grand real quick!
