Talking spark plugs coil stick (long)

I changed my plugs today (finally). this operation is mostly straight forward except for the #3 coil stick. i am including pix on how i did the #3 since i could not find much other that "be patient"

take off the t-stat bracket bolt and unplug the t-stat wire plug. lift up t-stat housing. lift up the electrical plug (white) so that it is above the frame.
1st pic

i tied up the clutch cable to the faring (z750s) so that it was out of the way
2nd pic

then i tied the electrical harness to the throttle body sensor to bring the harness lower and out of the way.
3rd pic

then with a little fanaggling and cursing the coil stick will lift out through the top of the frame. notice the plug to the spark plug harness is unplugged and bent up.
4th pic

then i used the spark plug tool in the kit and used it in between the top of the engine and the frame.

thanks kawabiker

how many miles on your plugs? what kind of shape where they in? I was thinking of changing mine but they only have 8000 mileson them and bike runs great. so I have not bothered yet.

Thanks for the instructions! I used them yesterday to do the z750's 15000 mile service. I managed to change the plugs, air filter, oil and oil filter but after 30 minutes of trying to slide the top of the engine out of the way so I could measure the valve clearances I lost the will to live and gave up on checking them.

Do you have to remove everything above the engine before you can get the top engine cover off? Thermostat, hoses etc? Has anyone done it and would you recommend me having another stab at it (not looking forward to it) and how many hours would a dealer charge you for checking the clearances and syncing the throtle bodies?

Changed mine tonight, it is fiddly but nothing a few skinned knuckles didn't take care of! Glad I don't do it everyday!
