Pretty cool. It only needed minor modifications to make it fit. Also, he needed to raise the rear to compensate for the longer forks. If I had the time and money....

My only problem with the whole thing is, if it were any taller I wouldnt be able to touch the ground. Man it sucks being vertically challenged.

Were the stock rotors used? Or are those the rotors off the 636?

They almost look like stock rotors, but Im not 100% sure about that. The front rotors on the 636 are only 280mm, while the Z uses 300mm rotors.

Exactly the reason I didn't do this mod! I had access to a set myself, but opted out after measurements.

I didn't read the link, but I can tell you from my measurements, that there is a bout a 2" in difference in length!!!

The only way I would do this is if I converted to clip-ons.

You can really see the difference in height if you put the before and after pics side-by-side and look at the distance between fender and headlight.

Stock Z rotors. Had to make 10mm spacers to move out calipers, and get 10 mm longer bolts.

Actual difference in length is 1 inch, fully extended.

Have heavier springs to compensate for heavier bike and rider.

Raised rear a total of 3/4 " by welding and re-drilling dogbones, and adding more pre-load to rear shock.

One reason for mod is that I was dragging the pegs, even hanging off like a circus monkey.

Picture, below, was taken at Palomar Mountain, Ca
Stock forks were compressed about 50 %.

Was only $ 400 off of Ebay, for forks, clamps, calipers, master cylinder, and axle.

I think a set of rotors of a ZX9 will bolt up. I belive they are also 10mm bigger than the Z's....You would need some sort of caliper spacer though....

If that were the case, then 15 mm spacers would be needed instead of 10 mm spacers.

The OEM Z-1000 rotors work just fine, and are already in hand with stock wheel . I have stainless lines made up at Earl's Supply, and Carbone Lorraine brake pads.

636 rotors have totally different bolt pattern.
