Front Brake Pad Pin

Help please -

What allen key or other tool is required to remove the fornt brake pad pin? It doesn't look like a standard hex to me.

It's a std hex mate No5 fits ok,

I'm in Lincoln mate how far north are you?

cheers mate - looks like mine could have been damaged by dealer when they were last changed then - grrrrrr.

5mm is the size I used on my '08. Not sure 'bout 1st gen.
Freakin' pads cost me dang near 200.00. Geez...

Have you tried heat? The alloy of the caliper body should expand quicker than the steel pin. a blow torch in the localised area should do the trick...

I'd try expats suggestion of applying a little heat first and try to get a tool to fit it somehow.
Drilling it out will not be easy, and if you wander off the pin into the calliper, re-threading will be a nightmare.
RichD - 200 for pads, hope that's USD, and fitted!

Thats USD, and with me installing. It is an extremely easy job, but it requires 2 sets, so a total of 8 individual pads...
And I think that may have included the rear, I may have bought front and rear all at once.
I know I can re-shoe my '70 Cruiser, and my Cherokee for less...
Go figure...

try this it worked for me, had a shagged number 5, so i hammered in forcebly a no 6 hex , put the rachet on and got it of....1 minute was done
