Hard luggage...??

Does anybody have hard luggage on their Z1000? Side cases are what I'm looking for, not that top case that sticks 20 feet in the air, thanks.

I'm curious to see what's available. My soft bags aren't big enough anymore so I'm thinking some panniers would be nice.

Hepco & Becker makes a decent looking setup.
I was thinking of something like this myself.

That's exactly the type of thing I'm looking for. I'm still open to other options as well, if anyone else has seen something.

Thanks for the reply! I'm going to check out their website right now.

You know what, some of can only afford one bike.

Some of us like to utilize our bikes as an actual form of useful transportation and long distance conveyance.

We love our Z's and want to expand it's capabilities. Just because you choose to limit your bike to one particular role, do not condemn us for wanting to expand the bikes horizons and capabilities to suit our needs.

FYI, I only have one bike-the Z I'm trying to rebuild. My post was a reflection of an OPINION not a fact...R E L A X ! ! ! If you wanna put hard bags on your Z, go ahead. Aesthetically I just THINK it looks odd. I don't use mine for touring, so no, I probably wouldn't utilize the bike to it's fullest potential, touring-wise. If you've found a way to blend the performance of your Z and the carrying capacity of a tourer, and it makes you happy, who cares what anyone else THINKS??? Enjoy the ride and no hard feelings, OK?

Givi also makes the Wing Rack which can do a top case and 2 side cases. Not cheap mind you but effective.

I've been using soft tourmaster bags on every bike I've owned for the last 18 years and I think it's time to treat myself to a set of hard cases.

Most recently I've been touring on my XB12R

I've done a few 3,000 mile trips like this, with tent and sleeping bag strapped on the pillion seat. It's quite capable, and when I'm camped I've got the ultimate canyon carver at my disposal. Now the Buell is being converted to a track-only bike and the Z1000 is my commuter/traveler/weekender.

Hard bags it is. They are all pretty expensive though.

I just orederd the hepco and becker side racks and top rack for my z. Also I order the hepco and becker journey 42L side cases and the 40 top case. It all should be in by the end of May I will post pics when I get everything installed. If you want an idea of what the cases look like they are the same
cases that come standard on the new buell sport tourong bike.

Those cases would be ideal... I can't wait to see what they look like on your Z.
