the bell star carbon is where its at. i got the black beauty. best helmet i have ever owned. definately worth the $$$.

I have the Bell Star carbon black as well and I also got the transitions faceshield. I bought the helmet back in 10/11 and for a bit loved it! Then had a few problems. The magnet in the strap fell out, one of the face vents got stuck open. (sucked in the winter) and the transitions shield scratched easily. I called Bell up and they sent me a replacement vent kit, magnet strap kit, and will warranty the transitions shield. Phenomenal customer service. They were truly awesome about trying to make sure I was happy. They have a customer for life!

that sucks u had those issues. my buddy got a vortex and had those same issues. i have had no issues with my star whatsoever. glad to hear if i do they will take care of it tho.

Broke down and ordered the RS-1 as well. Couldn't pass up the $199 deal.

I put my short review up in the "what helmet do you wear" thread. I am really enjoying this thing. I hit the autobahn last week and it held nicely up to 228kph. No change in characteristics what-so-ever. Extremely comfortable.
