    Helmets w/ built-in Sun Visors

    Hi all,

I'm starting to become interested in these helmets that I see around that have those pull-down sun visors built inside behind the shield.

Anybody on here have a helmet like this and can comment on its quality/price?

I'd like to compile a list of these helmets if possible... I've gone through each brand name but looking for this particular feature brand to brand is a little exhaustive.

My own helmet is a few years old now and has a couple of scratches and scuffs. If I decided to replace I'd like to get one of this type.

I've had the Scorpion EXO-1000 for a little over a year. The sun visor, inflatable cheek pads and ventilation were my main reasons for buying it. Be sure to check all the moving bits and test removing and reattaching the main visor before you buy to make sure none of those parts is damaged. Mine had a broken visor release on one side, which makes it tricky to remove the visor for cleaning. The helmet is snug and comfy and the sun visor is nice when it's bright out. I would recommend it.

    HJC IS-16

I have this helmet in Matte black LOVE it
it fits nicely, but my buddy doesnt like it cause of the shape of his head. I would say mine is a bit more oval and not as round as his. It is cheaper than the scorpion, but the sun visor is different. watch this it tells you all about it
a plus its not as heavy as the scorpion

I don't know which one I have but I have an HJC as well with the flip down sun visor, VERY beneficial when you take a turn and find yourself staring right into the sun. I flip the visor down, and when it gets shady and too dark I hit the button and it springs up inside the top of the helmet, awesomeness!!

I need to buy a new helmet though as I dropped this one a couple times....

Got the exo because I got tired of changing shield from day to night. Exo solve that problem.

I just did a bunch of research on this helmet thanks to your post, and Iím ordering off of helmetharbor.com. I tried on the HJC CL-15 in a large and that fits very well to my head. It shouldnít be a problem if I ordered this helmet in large as well correct? I mean I assume the majority of HJC helmets fit the same.

Iím not a big fan of my current AGV Migilia (flip face). When I ride on the highway the wind just pushes my head when I do a blind-spot check. All of that being saidÖ Iím so pumped for this helmet. How do you like the 3 settings with the tinted visor? I assume it keeps fog down?

im pretty sure the helmets fit the same. the helmet vents very nicely. i live in AZ man not really a problem with fog here lol. in all honesty i keep the tinted visor pushed as far down as it can go when i ride in the day. sometimes leve the clear up and tint down cause you get more air flow and where i live it keeps me cooler, and the plus is the visor will stop bugs too. hope you like the helmet i dig mine for sure.

I just got mine last night, and although I didn't get a chance to ride with it yet, I tried it on and it fits great. The air flow seems to be better than my old helmet as I was having a tough time fogging it up when sitting in my living room. I can not wait to get out on the road today after work...hahaha

I just got an HJC, it was $145 on ebay brand new ($100 off retail). I love this helmet and got it because of this feature. My cousin has the exo1000 and he has only good things to say about it also. This flip down shield is great!
