    Sewing a torn jacket

Somehow the pocket of my heavy-mesh jacket has come unstitched all down one side. Can I just sew it up again, or is a special technique required so I don't lose my waterproofness?

I don't know for sure what the fabric is - it's a Joe Rocket, you know what I mean.

It's 100% nylon, and the maker is Infiniti, not as stated above.

If it was sewn before, it can be sewn again.....I took my jacket to a tailor to have it done, but if youre handy with a needle, have at it....
