I read a review that said 30 mpg. That is just ridiculous for a motorcycle.
Skill is what keeps you on two wheels.

Situational awareness combined with skill is what keeps you out of harm's way.

ATGATT combined with Situational Awareness and Skill means you might live to ride another day when that deer runs into your bike or that drunk blows through that stop sign.

There are times when 30 would be high for my ninja.

If you are using the power it has, fuel gets burned at a very hih rate. I've had my concours 14 down to 17mpg, and would kill for another ride like that, if you know what I mean.

Yeah, but didn't you lose your wallet on that ride?

My craziest ride was in my 87 Firebird Formula when I was 19. Made a 3 hour drive in 2 hours flat in broad daylight where almost a third of the distance was mandatory 55mph or less. Averaged 96mph for the trip. That car had the 5.0L V8 and an 85mph speedo, which was pegged hard most of the way. I got behind some guy in a black Texas pickup and we didn't let up anywhere except when an unmarked crossed the interstate and nabbed an orange Mustang that was trying to outrun the pickup. It was both thrilling and stupid; I wouldn't do anything like that again. Makes a good story, though.

My thrilling and stupid times in my 20s- taking the same 35 mph corner many times with my 1972 Plymouth Barracuda with 70s on the front and 60s on the back, until I was going 85 mph and all 4 tires were sliding- I probably would have crashed going 1 mph faster.

Going the 105 mph top speed with a 1978 650cc Yamaha parallel twin in the early 1980s- I could hardly see from all the vibration, and taking corners many times with it until the aftermarket 2 into 1 exhaust scraped the pavement on the right side, and the frame scraped on the left side.

I have been in two totaled cars as a passenger- one went wide and hit a big mailbox in a dirt corner and everyone was covered with glass and lucky the mailbox did not go through the windshield for this 1970s Dodge Duster as the steel pole tore up the front suspension; and the other hit a driveway culvert with the front wheel while I was working in eastern Kentucky, flipping the 1990s Jeep Cherokee onto its roof so we were hanging upside down by the seatbelts and had to crawl out a side window turned from a rectangle to a little triangle in the mud in the roadside ditch- not good for my claustrophobia.

I did, and I was scared to death. I had to have my id as we were flying out the next morning.fun to let one of these engines do what it wants to do.

The FF is one of my fav cars of all time. I was too poor to get one at the time. But now Pontiac is gone.
