    Issues with Danmoto Exhaust

Well folks, I'm not happy. First, the support springs fall off and now this...

Tonight I was riding around wondering why my exhaust sounds louder then usual. I go home and pull into the garage to give my exhaust a once over and don't initially see anything. After taking it half apart to see what's going on, I found that the weld from the muffler to the extension pipe has given out on me and is being held on by a small piece of remaining metal that's still in tact. ( see photos )

I have contacted danmoto and made them aware of the issue. I haven't had it for over 3 weeks and both problems have arisen, even after an experienced motorcycle mechanic's installation. If worst comes to worst, I will have no other choice then to go to an exhaust shop and have them weld it back together for me.

Danmoto won't cover the issue, apparently it's my fault.

With what I paid for it, I guess I may as well just purchase an entire new exhaust system and take it to a professional for install even though I'm certain it was done right.

Yep. Tried to confront them about it, it's our fault for an improper install, not theirs. E-mail them about it and see what they have to say and let me know!!

Poor fitment, excess effort to install, plain style (from using simply parts/molds), no advertising.... but I didn't expect a weld to just come loose all the way around.

6500 miles strong and my danmoto exhaust looks and sounds like the day i put it on.. myself.. in 25 minutes... perfect fit... and for the price, I would def get again. It really looks like yours was installed wrong, putting pressure on the weld ..

Im not agreeing or disagreeing with either side but how do you install a slip-on wrong?? It slips onto the factory header and bolts to the factory brackets. Not a whole lot of room for error there. ??

To me it looks like the weld is just inferior and no match for the vibrations of the engine.

If you don't have everything lined up correctly you add extra stress to the weld.. It would not be hard to misalign the pipe.
