i say nothing beats using a well-known cleaner, simoniz, f'rinstance, followed by a good paste wax. i use meguiar's.
.. ditto. Here' what I use, plus a good quality microfiber cloth & some cheap rags.
Just liberally spray it on a clean soft microfiber cloth & wipe off the grime and dirt... NEVER spray it directly on the bike.
I do this in two phases using two microfiber cloths & some cheap rags...
- Take the first cloth and go in the following order.... start by cleaning the instrument cluster, windshield, the fuel tank, followed by colored fairings section, head lights & mirrors assembly, handle bars, then seat and rear light assembly & lastly front forks & inner sides of the fairings. Clean the colored sections first to minimize scratching... i.e. in the long run.
- Take the second micro cloth & clean the front mud-guard, non colored fairing sections, engine.. basically remaining lower parts of your bike... you can use the cheap rags here.
- Then take the cheap rag to clean the wheels, tires, below the seat & fender (if you have one) areas where mud gets flung by rear tires.
Keep and wash those two sets of microfiber cloths seperately once you have sizable laundry loads... I usually wash them once a season.
Discard those cheap rags after using them twice or until you don't find a clean area on them.
.
I do this once every two weeks, or more if the bike gets very dirty.
Bike still looks (touch wood) showroom condition new.!!
Ride on.

Sorry guys, have been super busy here lately, but I got the wipe new in. The "double size" bottle is only 3 oz. ha The pro detailing kit includes: 2 1/8 sized microfibers (small!), 1 coarse microfiber for headlight restorations, a Q-tip,and a pair of thin gloves. Anyways, besides spending $35 on such a little amount of product, it actually did a pretty good job. I'm anxious to see if it will last the two years it is guaranteed though ha. I know this thread is pretty much useless without pics, I will try to put some up soon though when I can get my camera.

Well, at least you can carry it on an airplane. LOL!
I believe it is better to be seen than to be heard. Remember, they give out licenses to deaf people, but not blind people.

Hey Guys,
I just wanted to let you know if you order wipe new don't expect it to come fast. I ordered it over 2 weeks ago from http://faqreviews.com and it still hasn't arrived. My neighbour recieved his awhile back and it does appear to actually work but you have to use the whole bottle for for one car (can probably get 2 bike applicqations out of it). So just a heads up.

i'd say that has little to do with the product, and more to do with who you order from.....

it's a scam, and they charge you $40 for the product and $40 for "overnight shipping and handling" without your permission. My father made the mistake of ordering it(his memory aint to good). What a hassle... Save yourself the trouble, its expensive GARBAGE...!

I've never seen the ad, I don't think it plays in my area. I was curious though and a Google search turned this up pretty quick:

I always use Plexus and it works good. Great on your visor too by the way.

This stuff brings "ashy" looking plastic back to life really well. I've see the commercials for the "wipe new" product... looks like BS to me. probably works for a little bit, but doesn't penetrate as well as some other products.
I've personally used the "black magic" product, and can say it works REALLY well for the rough plastic that fades in the sun.
