Is there a K&N Filter for the 2012 Ninja? If so, will it really make a diferrence on how the bike performs? I hear those are the best Filters for the bikes.

Not that I know of, check BMC BMC Motorcycle Air Filters Kawasaki 650R - Indysuperbikes No noticeable performance difference, still better filtration though, and last longer than OEM.
I'm not sure what differences have been made between the 11 to 12 model, but from the comments I have seen from racers all say that the stock filter is more than capable and there is no advantage to going to a BMC filter. I don't think that K&N even made a filter for the earlier models.

The filter on my '06 is reusable. I clean and re-oil with a K&N kit. Works great. Take a look at your filter media, see if you can do the same.

Their website has a search tool
K&N High Performance Air Filters, Air Intakes, & Oil Filters
You can check for the K&N parts for your model and year....
Thanks for the link zr7. Doesn't look like they have an air filter, but I did see an oil filter. Is this one better than the OEM?

Here's a resource for oil filters: Oil Filter Cross Reference

Any performance difference would be neglegible. The k&N filters are really about the materials which make it washable and reusable. That's why they are more expensive.
K&N are known as 'performance' filters because they let more air through, but they do it at the expense of filtering less.
You called them 'best filters' but they are actually less of a filter by allowing more particles. That's is true for any so called "performance" filters, and this has been tested by magazines.
Same thing if you made bigger holes in your existing filter. You then would have a 'performance' filters, it just does not filter as much. That is what K&N does.

Honestly, with the oil filter, I can't tell the diff between a K&N and a Fram filter.
But love the K&N air filter so far! My bike feels very zippy and responsive.
It could also be that my old filter was so old and dirty that any new filter would have made the bike feel zippy and responsive
The K&N filter does come with a MILLION miles warranty. Just return the filter if you're not happy and they'll send you a new filter...
Has anyone had any experience with the Bikemaster air filter? I understand it is nearly identical to K&N in terms of material and construction, but not sure about the fit. Has anyone tried it?
Btw, hello to everyone, this is my first post here at RiderForums!![]()
I recommend DNA air filters, I've had them on 3 bikes. They're cotton gauze filters like K&N's so are reusable and great quality. The part number for the 2012 Ninja650r filter is P-K6N12-01. In the US I think Blue Ridge Performance who is a Ninja650r specialists keeps them in stock.
When you consider that they improve performance but cost so little I don't see the gains as neglegible plus I believe it's very hard to see how well perform they truly perform. A dyno room fan isn't good enough to be able to replicate the air being forced into the airbox at the equivalent speeds out on the roads. I also believe manufacturers would supply bikes with cotton gauze air filters if they were cheaper to produce.
