Not sure where the switch is, but I'd start by taking the console off. It's only held on by three bolts, and the plug just pulls out. Then open the back and hold a 9v battery with some wires attached to it to the two leads on the back of the console that are attached to the neutral light. if it doesn't light up, there's your problem. Couldn't tell you off the top of my head if theres a fuse for the neutral light itself, but you could look in the fuse box by the battery. They're all labeled.
Take your sprocket cover off{3-8mm head bolts}
Follow the harness of wires going to the lower part of the engine.
One single wire with a 45 degree angle boot, goes the the netural switch.
Take it off, and clean it. Most likley that's the source of your problem.
If not, you might have a broken wire someplace in the harness.
You can see, and get at it, with out taking the cover off, just safer to remove that first, so you don't break the wire.
You can prove the switch by disconnecting the wire from it and shorting the wire to earth. If your light doesn't light, it's either the bulb or a problem with the harness. If it does light, it's a problem with the switch.
