Well the jury is in. For me and I stress for me, the Dobeck 3.5 is great and out performs the PCIII. When I had the PCIII on my bike the best MPG I got averaged 35. With the Dobeck I am averaging 42, with no lose of power or performance. Before you ask, NO I did not have a custom map on the PCIII, but I don't with the Dobeck either. I do not take it easy on this bike so I am very impressed.

    Good to hear.

I still don't understand how the thing works when it doesn't really collect any information from the engine or ECU. It will calculate RPM from the injector pulse frequency (like the PCIII does). But with no other inputs, I still don't understand it.

Just to balance this conversation, with my PC3 i was getting 40 local/highway, and almost 45 highway alone. No custom tune either.

I'm around 48 mpg for light easy cruising. After having a dyno session with my PCIII, I've been making small interative changes to the 'cruise area' of the map to improve the fuel economy. I'm up to my 9th version of the map, and about 48 mpg ( 4.9 L/100 km for the metrically enlightened). Before the tweaking I was getting around 44 mpg with the custom map. And before the air cleaner installation and with the stock ECU (no PCIII), I was regularly getting 50+ mpg (but slightly lower performance too). None of this is happening blasting down the highway at 75 mph all day. This is all cruising at 45 - 60 mph, no hard acceleration.

Can you share it? I'll PM you my email if you can't upload it. Are you changing it and then checking plugs after XX miles?

Well that would be great if they offered a Gen 4 for our bikes. But they don't.

I've contemplated putting an AFR monitor on mine, for further tuning of the PCIII. Costs a little more than a couple of dyno sessions but it would give you the info to tune under all conditions.

I know. But a stand alone AF guage and a Gen 3.5 still doesn't make a Gen 4. Same as a Dynojet WB2 + PCIII doesn't equal a PC V. I'd be very interested in an integrated solution for our machines.

The 2050ST appears to be just a fuel controller. There's no oxygen sensor capability.

    Thumbs up

Many of you are looking for a solution in dialing in you your fuel inj moudule with out having to spend a ton of money. Dobeck now has the new SAFR guage that you can now rent or buy to dial in any fi module. The rental cost is $20.00 a week or $325.00. This is a much better solution then going to the dyno shop and spending a lot of $$$$. Here is a link: Review coming soon. Read through this thread a few times and finally decided to bite the bullet . I currently have a cobra Fi2000 the two pot version. I have had no complaints but want to upgrade and like the doeebk model and the endorsement I got from Hagger sealed the deal. I will give SOP dyno review later this spring once I have some miles on the new unit.
