    another cam chain question

ok so heres the problem i took the caps off the cam chain adjuster and measured the depth it was about a quarter of an inch. according to gadjets page its time for replacement is this correct? i have started hearing a strange noise just started recently it seems to be coming from front left not 100%sure when it starts making the noise its pitch stays the same ive pulled in the clutch and shiffted gears and that didnt affect the sound. rpm didnt seem to change the sound either from what i could tell i didnt have time to check into it this morning but when i shut it off the noise continued for a split second after. its not constant the noise does go away after a minute or two will try to get a sound clip if i can catch it. back to cam chain adjusters should they be replaced the bike only has 11500 mile on thats not normal is it. sorry for long post just got me bothered any input would be appreciated

If it is below the edge, you should seriously consider the upgrade. For some reason the front cylinder chain wears earlier than the back cylinder chain. Wear has a lot to do with style of driving. If you ride her hard, she may need maintenance earlier than those that are easy on theirs.

thx for reply and yes they are way below the edge. i took them all the way off just to make sure they had about 2 or 3 clicks left on them.so that will get me by until my extenders arrive. ive put 3000 miles on it since i bought it and yes they have been hard miles. but thats why i bought her. judging by the thrill she gives me i think she likes it lol. i sure do
