A guy I worked with we'd drive nuts by pouring another tablespoon or two of oil under his bike every time he thought he'd found and fixed the "leak".
I'm pretty sure it's not gas. As a matter of fact the spots in the driveway are still there. If it was gas, they would of dried up?? Actually now that I think about it, when I first noticed the spots, I dabbed them with a white napkin and it was a faint grayish....almost clear with no smell to it. Kind of reminded me of used gear oil without the distict odor. I guess after I looked up at that hose that was right beside the oil filter, I just assumed it was oil?? Now I'm not sure what the heck it is?? I really appreciate everyone's help but I'll report back with some pics or some better info when I do some more investigating. Thanks all!!

I went out and took off both dog bowls and didn't see any oil anywhere. I also stood the bike up perfectly even and what I thought was halway on the sight glass is actually even with the low mark. Everything seems to run fine so I'm going to keep a close eye on that hose after rides and see if it eventually stops leaking. Other than that...."life goes on"...lol. Thanks for all the help guys!! I think when I put her away for the winter, I'm going to switch back to a good dino oil. I guess I need to stick with the old saying "If it aint broken, don't fix it"...lol.
Going back to good dino oil is not going to stop your oil leak, and why would you want to do that anyway.i would pull those hoses out from the location and move them somewhere else and see if the drops still are at that location or where you moved the hoses. Maybe you have some gear oil getting into the driveshaft tube and working its way up to the front u joint and leaking from the boot. just a thought.

Well I took speedracer's advise and re-routed those hoses. Went for a ride, and found my leak.....apparently oil was leaking out around the seal of my walmart supertech oil filter...lol. and dripping onto that damn vent hose or whatever it is, making it look like the culprit!!! I gave it a snug turn with my oil filter wrench and went for another ride and no more oil!! Thanks speedracer and everyone else for the great advice!!!

Thanks to Rick for solving my leak to a T...LOL.

Could you say what steps you took in your install and tightening of the super duper walmart filter?

Got back from a ride around 6pm today. Noticed oil all over my rear tire!! Looked underneath and sure enough....CRAP!!....oil on the filter again!!! I started to look really close all around the filter and couldn't find any oil at all! I started paying closer attention to where the oil was on the filter...1) it was in the middle 2) no oil whatsoever by the filter seal 3) no oil anywhere around this puddle??? WTF??? I then wiped everything clean and laid under the bike while it was running, didn't see anything. Rev'd her up a few times and sure enough the puddle of oil was in the same F*****G spot again!! Cleaned it up and had my son rev-up the bike while watching underneath.......guess what I saw???? A tiny microscopic hole smack dab in the very center of the filter, only leaking when putting a load on the motor!! No wonder this damn thing was so hard to find!! So my question is can I swap in a new filter without changing the oil?? If not, then I guess she's getting an oil change tomorrow!!

Sure, nothing runs out except the oil in the filter. You'll have to add some oil after to bring your level back up. Put a new power steering pump on my van. Same deal, it had a flaw in the body, puked fluid. Wish it was as easy to change (again) as your filter.

Just curious what brand of filter are you using. Seen this happen alot in the auto business and its not always a cheap filter either so Im not trying to bash your brand just curious which one. I happen to use carquest right now because I have an account with them and they carry the filter.

I am using a supertech walmart filter. I have an extra one, but I think I'm gonna pay a little more $$ and get a different filter!! I'm going to get on gadjet's site tonight and write down some part #'s.
