    Bullet light - rear mounting

So I put some Kuryakyn mini bullets on the front for blinkers and thinking of doing the same out back. I am looking at different mounting options due to low and mean rear fender. Wondering what people's opinions/experiences are. The first option that I would really like to look into is mounting in place of the fender strut bolts. Kuryakyn has mounting studs that are M8 to 3/8"-16 (shown below). Problem is, I have the stock fender struts that use the M6 bolts. Anyone know where I could get something like this that is M6 to 3/8"-16?

Next option is these Baron mounting tabs. Looks like they intend for you to mount them under the fender strut to the M8 bolt that attaches the fender to the frame. Only thing is it looks like the bottom of the tab would be very close to the fender leaving little room the mount the light. Anyone use these and happen to be able to point me to better pictures?

    Thanks

the M8-3/8 16 is the only ones available. I had to drill my strut covers to use these, the bolts that hold the fender to the struts are M8's. hope this answers your question.

oh you could also just use the mounting brackets, I think barons and kuryakyn makes them.

Thanks for the response, but that really just confirms the questions I was asking. I will try to clear that up a little bit. I realize that the M8 adapters are the only ones readily available (from Kuryakyn anyway), but what I am wondering is if someone has experience finding something like this that may not even be motorcycle specific, using a M6 thread. I am trying to avoid drilling/tapping the holes as you did.

I also realize that the mounting brackets are available (I only found Baron's but there certainly may be others, see picture above). I am a little confused looking at the picture as to how they mount to the bike and how the lights mount to the brackets. This is why I am wondering if anyone here has actually used these and might be some better pictures.

    Thanks

    Baron's mounts

    Litngboltz,
Here's a couple pics for ya using the Baron's marker mounts to mount the stock turn signals. Like you said, I used the rear 8 mm hole to mount them.

...I ordered some rear fender (strut cover) spikes from working class choppers. I believe they were supposed to come with some 6mm studs to mount them with but they didn't happen to make it. I sent them an email today. I can let you know how long they are, etc when I get them. Hopefully, later this week.

    hope this helps.

Awesome MO, thanks a lot. Exactly what I was looking for. Is there really that much room on the under side of the stock fender struts at the M8 locations?? I am going to have to go take another look at that tomorrow. Definitely keep me posted on what happens on that M6 tip too. Thanks again, appreciate it.

P.S. Still haven't found that light but defintely haven't forgotten about it either. It will show up.
