Trimming the bucket I had to buy as a receptacle for the drained oil, getting used to apartment living....remember to bring everything down, if you forget anything up you go again.

Just a bit of info no pic

I have done 6000 long kms since leaving bb, so a service is due. I had a done a full service before leaving bb, so all that is necessary here is the oil/filter change, will probabley look at the plugs and check the tire air pressure.

I showed Jessica all the maintenance points on her zr7 and her bike seemed to be in good nick.

Some say this where gg belongs

C'mon Jessica let me out, I promise I'll be good from now on.

This was taken at the old gaol at Fremantle wharf area.

You US guys and others know Fremantle Oz, this where the Americas Cup was defended for the 1st time out of the US. It put Fremantle on the map.

I told Jessica that I was last in Fremantle in 1969 on a passenger ship. "wow" say Jessica? and incidentally this young girl offered me a seat on the train yesterday .....what are they trying to tell me????

Jessica and I did the tourist bit, walking around the trendy Fremantle and having a capuccino with the afternoon coffee set. I enjoyed the afternoon out, a train ride from Perth to Freo a few memories for me, as Fremantle had been a regular port stop for me in the sixties.

    C'mon Jessica let me out

Jessica with Vasgo de Gama's monument

Vasgo de Gama was a great Portuguese navigator of the 1500's.

This monument is a fitting tribute to his world exploration and navigation at Fremantle.

    Wow!

    Graeme,
This is absolutely great. I just made it back home and am checking all these photographs! It is so nice to be able to share the trip with you in this manner. I am sitting here at my wife's computer with the atlas opened on my knees, learning and appreciating the beauty of Australia.
The internet is a fantastic technological development. Here we have an Australian crossing the desert, having his picture taken by someone who knows Serp, eating imported Canadian kippers, and being sheltered by Fantastic Jess! All this being being shared with us via the great world-wide web. Vive l'Internet!

I am happy to hear that the trip is going well. Please continue to keep us informed, in as much as you have access to computers. Merci Graeme,

p.s. 1, did you drive through Broken Hill or did you go further south?
p.s. 2, I can identify all those little polished stones, believe me!

    Question
In picture 057, is that a litre of oil beside the bed? Is that what Jess gave you to drink after a long hot ride through the desert??

    Andre's answers

It is a great thrill for me send these Pics and info to all you members, I thought some of the Pics would be mundane and uninteresting, little did I know of some of things that interests you.

Yes that is a litre of Mobil oil only to be consumed by ZR7, he is a very moderate drinker, about 800ml was "drunk" during the 6000km cross Oz trip.

Normally one would travel across NSW via Dubbo, Nyngan, Wilcannia and Broken Hill. I had done that trip a previous time. This time I rode west of Sydney to Bathurst, West Wyalong, Hay, Mildura and then up to Port Augusta.

I thought you'd be ok identifying those 1$ tourist gems.

Been riding up in the hills again this am, have more Pics of the ubiquitos Serpentine. Will download the pics this arvo.

Oui l'internet et le digi camera est tres bon..... so much fun

Thanks for sharing. On pic 81 I spent a few seconds wondering what you were trying to draw our attention to with the arrow until I realized it was a channel marker, DOH!

last minute preparation before leaving Perth +Pic

gg sewing up one of the tie down straps, which was starting to breakaway.

My 6 day fantastic stay in Perth is near over, ride out early tomorrow Monday, making for Geralton some 450kms north of here on my way to Darwin in the Northern Territory.

There won't be many postings in the next two weeks, however digi cam has been recharged, deletions made and ready to do some more happy snapping.

This trip is all new to me, the country is remote and sparsely populated, there are many mining towns in this part of the world, particularly iron ore and then there is the world famous Argyle pink diamonds.

Weather forcast is not too flash, it is raining at the moment.

Jessica has just brought me coffee and hot bun, I could get used this.
