They are all pretty high mileage too. How much was the zr-7 sold for when it was new?
I think it was $5,800 here in the US.
I think it sold for $9990 new.
We do have high taxes on imported vehicles (including motorcycles) to protect our car industry. Not only are imported vehicles taxed highly but the local car industry keeps getting government hand outs to stay afloat. It's not like we produce cars that are good anyway. Aussie cars are low quality and fall to bits. Let our car industry die a natural death, give the money to businesses that can grow and compete with an international market. Has anybody heard of Metal Storm? It used to be an Aussie company that manufactured cool weapons for the defence industry. Asked for funding from the government to grow and got told no. Now it's a massive, successful company but under American ownership and manufacturing in the US as well. Perfect example of where our tax dollars should have gone.
Anyway......... sorry for the rant
If the current selling prices of the zr-7 is calculated as a percentage of the price when new, they are really not that far off when compared to the selling prices in the US.
I paid $2300 for my bike when I bought it last year. There will always be some outliers (eg. crashed bikes, bikes that are not running, etc., etc.)
I stole 2000 for $750 USD with 1850 miles, never crashedPrices in Australia make me wanna ship it and quadruple my investment!
