Stalls or stumbles, when throttle is first opened, any suggestions.

Can a carb guy tell me what I'm missing. I cleaned my carbs twice. The bike stalls when you first crack the throttle, between 1,000 and 1500 rpm. Above that it runs fine. I've cleaned the pilot jet, pilot screw, every orifice I could find, but still have this problem. I've even popped the gas cap to see if it was a vacuum problem.

Have you replaced the pilot jet? Those dang little things are hard to get really clean.

Your idle should be 1100-1150 rpm I think. Where are your idle mixture screws set?

Mine are set where they have been at 2 & 1/2 turns out. Its run fine at that, in the past. The pilot jets are clean. Does anyone know what the air bleed pipes are. There mentioned in the manual as possible culprits.

I think the air blleds are drilled within the carb bodies and capped with lead plugs at the factory. They are usually quite small. They either allow metered air into parts of the carb or allow air into passages used by fuel to allow the fuel to move freely without creating suction and starvation or to help the fuel atomize.

mine did that when i removed the airbox snorkel. i shimmed the needles with a radio shack washer and still did not fix it completely. my carb guru took the springs and stretched them out just a tad and that fixed it.

I recently started having this problem after the EGR-ectomy. Stumbles a little after 2-3 min warmup when pulling out, then runs fine afetr first mile or two. Anyone have any suggestions?
