    Insurance Rates

Where can I get reasonable rates. My agent, when questioned about how high can only say "you got really good coverage" and "its a sports bike". I replied its not a sports bike. He would not budge. Im 40 years old with clean record good credit rating and park it in a locked garage. Check out these rates and tell me what you think.

You don't mention this but I'm asuming you are talking about a ZR-7 or 7S...if so start looking around...I pay $185 a year for what looks to be close to the same coverage for my '01 ZR-7S. Heck, my '01 FZ1 is only $220 a year. I've been told the area you live/part of the country has an effect on rates too, but that seems pretty high. Just my

I'm in Cincinnati as well and am paying $238 with American Modern Select:

    property Damage----------------------------100000------------8.00
    Physical damage comprehensive---------------------------------32.00
    Passenger liability----------250000----------500000------------7.00
    collision deductible-------------500--------------------------
    Included accessory coverage-----------3000-------------------72.00
    UIM bi--------------------250000---------500000------------30.00
    UM bi---------------------250000---------500000-------------65.00
    Travel loss reimbursement-------------------------------------10.00

    ----Total yearly premium each vehicle-------------------------238.00

This is for the ZR-7S. My coverage amounts are twice as good as what you indicated. I'm 60.

Your agent is offering you a policy that costs twice as much as it should. Shop around.

I am 65 and insured with Progressive. I have two bikes insured with them for a total policy premium of $426. I have no collision coverage…..just public liability and property damage which is the minimum required by the State of Michigan. They have both the Honda Shadow and the Kawasaki ZR-7 listed for the same amount ($213 each).

I thought so. Time to start shopping. And while I'm at it, I'll include my home and all 4 cars I have insured with same agent.

I just have basic coverage from Progressive. Like WMU_BRONCO above, I don't have collision, just the minimum required by NYS. I'm 41 and pay $75/year. My agent said I was lucky the bike was NOT listed as a sport bike. I have the 2000 ZR-7. When I first asked my agent for a quote, he gave me a price of $620. He doesn't do many motorcycles and priced it just like my car ($300,00 single limit with comp and collision). Then I went online to Progressive and got a quote and it was substantially less. I gave him the info and he wrote me the policy through Progressive (he's an independent agent). I looked into getting more coverage (to what my agent recommended) and it was still only $135.

The only problem with the gene pool, is that there are no lifeguards.

    ????

Are we talking about liability only or full coverage?

Cuz if it's liability only... you are paying WAY too much....

I am only 22 years old... with a couple speeding tickets and fair credit score.....

I pay $143 for the '01 ZR-7S and $103 for an 04 Honda Rebel.... liability only with Progressive.....

HID projectors, Moose Bars, Heavy Barend + Lead shots, barend mirror, black frame/side/rad covers + rearset, 3/5 exhaust mod, remote trunk popper, blackout gauge w/ orange LEDs.........

    Hers:
