What the Rev?
Ok...I used to be able to pull the front end up on my bike, but now when the front end starts to lift up it drops back down and the engine revs up. Under this acceleration I can't really tell what's going on. Do you think my back tire is breaking loose or what? Has this happened to anyone before. I've only been on a street bike for a few months so maybe you "Pro's" could give me some pointers about what's going on. Thanks.

Slippery clutch? Time to replace clutch plates. Or... are you sure you did not use car oil with energy save additives?

I had a problem with a slipping clutch not so long ago. Found that the clutch cable was kinked and it kept sticking. Got a cable from the dealer for $36 Aus, i installed it in 15 mins and all was gravy again.

Yep. Could be the clutch.
Mine will spin up the rear tyre if i try and wheelie and it is too cold. But you will know all about it if it does that. Usually the front only lifts 1/2 way and it wiggles it's *** and snakes down the road.

I haven't messed with the oil.

If it's the whole clutch...BIG $$$$$$. The clutch itself is a good couple hundred then tack on the shop labor to install. Not pretty.

I would proceed in the following order:
1. Check the clutch lever play. Adjust if necessary.
2. Check the clutch cable for a kink. Depending on the result you may end up buying a new cable.
3. If you changed the engine oil recently, I would suggest to change it again using a good quality oil. I use Shell Rotella T Synt, but if you are paranoid about putting car oil in your engine, use motorcycle specific oil.
4. Last thing is clutch plates. I remember I so them on eBay for $60. It's very easy to replace them yourself, but it should not take the shop more than 1 hour.

Kawis have tough clutches, I doubt that's it unless your bike is used and been abused. If you check the stuff in that list, you'll figure it out before you get to clutch work.

none of the above
No lever play, no kink, no recent oil change...and only 3600 miles...this sucks!!!

There should be a small amount of play in the clutch lever. This shows it's not too tight and dragging the clutch.
