want to make my exhaust louder

i have a 2004 z1 with a muzzy 4-2-1 full titanium with the carbon fiber can.....

what i really want on it is something GP LOUD!

all my friends have gpstyle exhaust on their bikes and mine is quiet like no other compared to them

can i get a can to fit on my full titanium ? or what can i do exactly to mod my current can (mind you its carbon fiber so it needs special care)

i just want to be heard and would have bought a louder pipe if i could but i bought the bike already with this system taht at one point cost waht i heard $1,400

    help me out guys?!!!!

This is the best move you can make and that is sell your Z and buy a Gixxer baby. This way you'll make all of the ladies want you.

Oh hell just take the can off, think of the decel flames and ear-piercingly untuned exhaust notes you could achieve. All the Harley guys I see are doing it

I had the same system on my 2003 Z1000, 4 into 1 Muzzy with carbon fiber can and mine wasn't too loud either, so I looked on ebay and found a slip on D&D aluminum can with black end caps and black tag with a 2" inlet, I bought it used and reasonable. But I found out the Muzzy mid pipe was exactly the same as the D&D and it would not slip over it, so I brought the D&D can and Muzzy mid pipe to my local muffler shop, and the guy who works there expanded my Muzzy mid pipe to slip over the D&D and it works perfect. Now I have the loudest sport bike around, literally I have the loudest when I ride, so make sure you get a D&D if you want loud. I think that the D&D's with the black tags are the loudest because they are the race cans, that is what you need.http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...Picture165.jpghttp://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...Picture167.jpg

Ditto...I would think if you just shorten the can 5" or 6", it should be louder and alot less expensive than buying a different GP can to put on the mid pipe.

true .... i talked to a local bike shop an they said to leave the pipe the same length and cut half the baffle out and put in a straight pipe from end of the remaining baffle to the end cap....BUT line it with heat resistant so i dont crack the carbon fiber due to possible over heating...

Might make it louder but don't think it could satisfy the ladies. Oh...., you said can, never mind, I thought you were gonna cut 5 inches off of something else

    LOL!
Poor planning on your part does not constitute a crisis on my part. Just chill and don't forget to go for a little thrill.

Agreed. The Z with a 4-1 is already irritatingly loud.

Just my opinion but I have a 04 Z1000 with a 4-1 and I wanted louder cause I recently started draggin it so I gutted the muzzy all I can say is damn its loud but its also hollow it doesnt have any beef to it. So I actually went down and got some packing and repacked it. I must say also though that the fully muzzy sounds bada** it out of all my buddies bikes in my opinion has the best deep arrggggh sound. But you are right it is not the loudest. My dad purchased a muzzy zx10 m10 muffler and made a custom adapter to fit it from the header to the slip on and I must say it is massively loud. If any of you guys can explain to me how to do a sound clip I will try and get one posted asap but I dont really know how to do it..... Pm me or whatnot

I've cut down about twenty different cans over the past 3 - 4 years. ALL OF THEM sound better and deeper once they have been shortened. I usually cut about 7" off of them though, I'll post up some pics later. I sometimes gut the can all together and install a new 2.5" perforated core with dirt bike packing. Seems to give it a deeper sound, the bigger the core.
