Finally able to get a ride in.

For the first time since Christmas, I was able to ride. Man, what a difference 10 degrees make. On Saturday (27 degrees), I went of a 30 mile ride and my left thumb started to show the initial signs of frost bite so I headed home. I had installed the Throttlemeister and wanted to test it out. The whole time I was doing less than 50 MPH. Yesterday, it was a balmy 37 degrees and I went for an 1 hr 45 min ride in which I traveled 100 miles. Man it was nice to be back in the saddle. Yesterday's ride was really enjoyable. It was the first time I was able to truly test the Throttlemeister on the highway and I really like it. I found that I need to take a little shim out of it (which took about 2 minutes); but, other than that I love the product. With my Aerostich vest and heated grip wraps, I could ride all day long in 35+ degree weather; but, the dreaded ice/snow is coming again tonight. Supposed to get 2" to 4" of snow (hopefully, not much ice). I probably won't be able to start commuting again for at least another 2 weeks. I am pumped to start riding again.

just went for a ride today. It was around 38 degrees but with a couple layers and gloves it was awesome...not cold at all (besides my face a little)!

My zx6 forks came in today along with the shock, so I wanted to take one more ride before I put everything on!

as posted yesterday in the daly ride section..

I officially joined the 50 mile club yesterday.. I do live in Ottawa and the outside temp was -8 celcius.

It was great to ride along the world's longest skating rink

Your crazy.....-8 is cold enough to freeze the "stuff" in your nose in less than a minute for your warm climate gents. I remember running the 100 yards from the parking garage to my office when it was -7 and I had tears streaming down my cheeks it was so cold. They were frozen halfway to the building. You definitely get my respect. People around hear think I am nuts when I commute and the hi/low is 28/42. I have nothing on you.

    that's only 17° F...lol

BTW I rode in today too, I actually had to put a layer under my leathers because it got down to 65°F. It's supposed to be really cold in the morning when I leave though something like 49°F.
