    That powerband hurts wheelies

I find the power band on the Z1000 to be so strong and sharp around 7500rpm that it seems to screw up any wheelie attempt. The second the tach passes seven it wants to shoot up past the BP.

This bike feels like it has a turbo or something. I like high end power, but it seems to come on awfully strong and sharp.

i wont deny ive had to change my pants on several occasions, but since the bike didn't suffer i'd say thats a good thing

i am just now starting to bring the wheelie down with the rear brake, instead of the throttle, and that does help keep it from flipping at 7500

i assume u r powerwheeling it in first? clutching it in second might be better, but i am still learning that too

I've got a Z750 but I feel the same way. There is like a switch: power off/power on

If you have a slip-ons, the 4-1 systems fill the midrange in alot better.

1st gear is useless. The front shoots up like a rocket. I clutch it up in second.

Isn't that around the rpm that other members have discovered the secondary butterfly finally starts to open?
