Must be this small to ride

Okay here's the deal. I'm not the most attractive guy, but I'm comfortable enough with riding now I feel I can take someone for a short ride. What's the biggest passenger I can carry on my Zed without damaging the bike (or my reputation)? I weigh in at a deuce and a half without my gear. Yes I'm big enough to burn diesel I know, but how big can my passenger be? I'm not a good judge of weight so if you have pics of good examples please post them.

If I were you, I'd stick to the manufacturers suggested carrying capacity. I'm not 100% sure but I believe it's 390lbs total. 390-250=140lb passenger.
I will tell you- without going into details- that I have exceeded this limit by a pretty large margin and it's not fun.
I plan on living forever. So far, so good.

Dude, you can put anyone on the back you want, but let me tell this story.

A riding buddy of mine came up to me at a local hangout and said, "Dude, you gotta help me. See that hot girl there? She want's a ride (This girl was the definition of beautiful) but she wont go unless we take her friend. Will you take her?" I saw the look of desperation in his eyes and knew I had to do it. I turn and see the most hideous piece of flesh I had ever laid eyes on and sighed, knowing I was taking one for the team.

I didnt even ask her name, but told her to get on. She had NO personality and was about 225 lbs. Actually she looked like Mimi from the Drew Cary show, but without the attitude. She couldnt even get on the bike, and when she did, her feet were on MY pegs, not the passenger pegs. THEN she had to lift her legs with her hands to get them up to the pegs(2000 R1). Once we were situated, we started to roll.

The sparks from my Akro full system and the feeling of the suspension being bottomed and staying there are memories I wish I could forget. That and the mocking laughter from my riding buddies!!!

So, to answer your question, take who you want. Be prepared to take someone you dont want and spend some money on stiffer suspension parts as you will need them anyway for yourself. I am 210 lbs and I need them too, so Im not slamming you. Not enough in the suspension dept. sucks.

So, for the price of my pride, dignity and 50 thousandths off my Akro, I earned the respect and life long gratitude of my riding pal's, and it's a good story to laugh about now!

Man what a funny thread! Immiketoo, all I can say is I hope your friend had a good date. For sure he owes you big time. The image in my mind of u riding R1 with big gal on back dragging akro... too funny. Honestly, I don't think I could of done it, out of concern for they bike, definitely not with an Akro dragging on the ground, ouch!

I have never had a passenger on mine. My wife doesn't like to ride, My daughter is not interested and I better not get busted rolling around town with some hottie on the back LOL! I can just see my wife ha ha ... not good. She puts up with a lot of my BS as it is.

I only carry a size XXS Shoei spare helmet with me.

When a fatty 'ho comes over asking for a ride, I just pass her the helmet (knowing damn well it won't fit), she tries to put it on, it doesn't even clear the top of her forehead and I say 'sorry'.

Doing this ensures I keep things within my tastes.... 5'0" to 5'4" chicks in the 98 - 108 lbs range.

    Damn I'm shallow.

i never gave anyone rides. what if some idiot cager pulls out??!!
i only gave rides to my niece and my nephew in a gated complex.

one of my part time workers friend rolled by to show off his new R6. mind you that he has no leathers or even a decent helmet, nor his M1 license. he is 20, tickets up the waazoo, and a DUI. he had his girlfriend (who he bought the bike under, and real cute) on the back and i was like "god i hope that kid doesnt crash". and few weeks later i heard he highsided on to a sidewalk with her. worse thing is that he wasnt hurt all that bad and heard she is hospitalized.

whats with these beautiful insecure girls going out with these losers? and why arent they coming my way????

    Funny wingman story

As for the biggest passanger I've carried would be one of my friend who's probably about 180lb in gear. I'm about 150-160lb in gear. I can still ride almost as fast as I can solo with a passanger on the back because my suspension is sprung way too stiff right now and actually feels better with a passanger on the back.

i used to date a little gal, ok, a big gal that was short. Pretty face, nice personality...

it was a HOOT to get her on the bike

At the time I was riding a 750 Magna and with her on the back, that cruiser turned into a wheelie machine!!!
