Meanie Cut Off after going through small puddle this morning

On my way to work today I went through a small puddle. Was going about 35 or 40 when I noticed the puddle ... slowed to 30ish to attempt to reduce water spots on all the chrome ... 100 yrds or so later the bike cuts out. I try to re-start and it feels like a low battery - It cranked weakly, and would not start. So I get off the bike, take my helmet off and look at the bike like I know what I am doing ... NOT. No obvious leaks. No excessive amount of water underneath that I can see. Less than 5 minutes later I sit back on the bike (again like I know what I am doing) and she starts right up. No more issues on the rest of the ride into work. No difference that I noticed in engine response, performance, etc. from usual.

Any ideas on what happened? Was it just temporarily related to the puddle or should I get the electrical system checked out? Any thoughts are welcome and appreciated.

What an empty feeling it is to be out on the road looking at a meanie that won't start ... ... lol ... Hoping she starts up at the end of the work day!

Could possibly be a breather hose that sucked up some water if not electrical.
I believe it is better to be seen than to be heard. Remember, they give out licenses to deaf people, but not blind people.

I'd like to see a meanstreak PERIOD!! even if it is just on the side of the road. I've seen 2 since I've owned mind (4 years). I'm in the Seattle area (Eastside of the lake). Where are they all? Was it a very low seller when it was live? I thin it was 2004-2007 or so, is that correct? I don't know much about bikes... just saw it on craiglist back in 2008 and wanted to learn how to ride... it was shiny and green.

Personally, I like having a bike that not everyone else has. I prefer to stand out from the crowd.

Or if you're like me where you'll ride as long as its dry, but not necessarily warm out, you can ride now and then April-may, more often then not June-sept, then now and again Oct-Nov. Really depends on the year though. The last couple have not been as great.

Yeah, we're getting the stinky end of the stick. Its record high temps everywhere else and we're colder and wetter than normal. LoL Gotta love the Pacific NW..

bike going over a deep pothole/puddle will drop the kick-stand far enough to cut the engine. remember that bike won't start if it's geared and kick-stand is down!

I don't think the engine will turn over with the side stand switch engaged (unless out of gear or clutch in). I think the original poster said it turned over weakly. Just my 2p...
