    Custom Gas Cap Installation

    Hey all,

Has anyone here removed the stock fuel filler neck to weld in a different style? I cut my stock filler neck out to have it replaced with a weld-in style pop up gas cap, vented.

There's two vent lines brazed to the stock filler - one is an overflow, while the other is a vent, to the best of my knowledge.

If anyone has done this before, what did you do with these? I am pretty sure I don't need them, as I have no use for an overflow seeing as my gas cap will now be flush, and the gas cap itself is vented so I don't think I'll need the stock venting. I just don't want two brazed vent lines floating around all willy-nilly in my tank.

PS: Pics of a radical mean streak to come soon, once the tank is done and paint is laid.

hey Metallisch - did you ever figured this out? Please share info. I am smoothing out my tank and installing a flush cap mount / cap combo. I don't event have a vent in my cap, wondering if that may affect performance.
