We don't have inspections here, but you can buy a chrome or black plate and mount it to any bolt. It is designed specifically for the inspection decal.

when I did the intake moved the choke to the middle of jugs on the left anf added a small plate for the sticker where the choke was. Had to argue with the garage to put it there but he finally did.

Is there any legal requirement where it's placed? If not, on the back of the license plate sounds good.

I am from pa dont know if they have any laws about location or not. However something tells me they would make a fuss about the back of the license plate though. Thanks for the ideas tho,I'll find something that works.

Here's a picture of mine. It's a piece of stainless I cut and mounted on one of the motor mount bolts. You can see it above the shifter.

I think that here in PA, the rule is in a visible place towards the front. If the location is moved, they'll be really picky about a plate that's just bolted on. I got the "has to be welded on" speech. But...they moved mine anyway.

I cut a flame-shape plate to fit the frame neck. Worked out well and was unique, so I dig it. I've since had them laser cut and will get 'em powdercoated soon. Here's a pic with the plate on just before I got the sticker relocated.

I'm in an area where we don't have this BS, yet. If I had to have a sticker I'd find out what the actual requirement was for placement instead of relying on other's opinions of what it might be. Then I'd get creative.

Sometimes creativity can be a lot more expensive than materials. In my case, the original plates are some thin steel from lowes, a simple template hand drawn on cardstock, a few dremel cut-off wheels and some rattle can paint. Total cost for the pair was probably less than $12 bucks. (Pair because I have one on the other side without the sticker area just to balance it out.)

This year, the laser cut stainless ones are a bit different. Still no very expensive, but it helps to have resources, too.

by the way...where at in PA?

Restrictions aren't quite strict in PA, but a lot of times it depends on the mechanic doing the inspection and the local police. If either are strict about placement, then they might get picky no matter where you move the sticker. But by and large, they're pretty open with bikes as long as they're not too ungodly horrible. Thankfully...

I am from PA and I used a Kuryakyn License plate mount and mounted it next to the shifter. Had it there for years with no problems.

In other words, you don't really know. If you know, or have a copy of the requirements, you can better deal with mechanics that want to put it where they think it ought to go.

I am in denver pa (near lancaster).I tried to search the laws didnt really come up with anything.I think it will depend alot on the inspection station if they make a fuss or not.I will rig something up in that lower corner I think.
