    Bandit 1250 maintenance & reliability

I am looking at buying a used 2007-2009 1250 bandit. I assume the bike is reliable if it has been well maintained. Could you guys confirm.
What type of maintenance can I expect: intervals between valve adjustments, oil changes, replacing the chain...
    Thank you.

I've put 42,000ks on my 09 1250 with just oil changes, tyres, chains and not much else at all ... A friend had a 1200 - he was a motorcycle mechanic - he did the same, but did once change the plugs - last heard of he had 140,000klicks on it witout a spanner on the engine apart from plugs and oil drain ...

Thank you for the reply. I was under the impression that valve adjustments were needed every 5-7K miles. Is this a myth?

From my expereince it's a myth .. My 650 is starting to rattle a tad - at 42,000ks ... it is probably the valves ... but that's way more than every 5-7 ... and I play on the 650 much harder than I do on the 1250 ..

Bugga !!! At 32,000ks my 1250 needed a new fork seal .. it was leaking a little (replaced both) ... that's the first repair of any kind it's needed!!!

What manuals recommend is 'Valve Checks' at certain intervals, not valve adjustments, which may or not be needed.

    Per the users manual:

    Valve check interval: 14,500 miles
    Oil change: 3,500 miles

Good to know since I don't have an owners manual.
