Seems to me they just turned the FZ1 into a Z1000. That's why I like the new FZ1. Sat on one at the IMS show it seems a lot smaller than the old one and looks 5X better IMHO. It's a cool update. Hardcore fans of the old ones though aren't likely to rush out and buy one 'cause they might be too radical for their "conservative" tastes. Oh yeah that and the fact the old FZ1 is an awesome all arounder that is reliable as hell.I sometimes ride with a guy who's put 50,000 miles on his in about 3 years and he's had zero problems.
Ye looks simalar to the Grand Old Z but still has the wrong name on it!![]()
I'm going for a ride down the Gold Coast shortly, I'll slip into a Suzuki shop and have a look if they got some there.
Only if they traded it in on a V-Strom.Originally Posted by petro

I went to the Yamaha shop in Nerang and had look at the FZ6 and the FZ1, they didnt have a fz1 naked there but I asume the FZ6 naked looks simalar, they didn't do much for me, but I did cast more than a glance over the 06, R6 a very nice motorcycle.
Well boys and girls......its all mine!!...and it ain't bad it ain't bad at all.....it really wakes up after 6000k. under 6k it is a little soft..not much unlike the z1000. I actually found the new fz1 to be comfortable than the Z when you sit on the bikes back to back. I can't wait to finish breakin so I can take it over the 8k mark. The fit and finish is awesome!! Now if I can only bounce this weather out so I can put on some miles..but until then
