Integrated Tail Light

I know there are other threads on this topic but I was wondering more specifically on the integrated tail lights from china for $10-$20. I am one of those believers of you get what you pay for and this just seems kind of cheap to me. I was just curious if anybody else has gotten one and if so what they thought.

Part of what we do at the 650shop is buy some of these products to see if they are worth investing in....95% of the time when there is something cheap on ebay like that, they are not any good. They DO function most of the time, and would "get the job done" but there are some MAJOR differences between the cheap ones and the "Quality" products. (Reflectors for the LED's, Weather Proofing, Built in Resistors, PROPERLY FITTING LENSES)

IMHO, I learned at a very young age, if you are going to buy something, get something you only have to buy ONCE. (Tools, Bicycles, Car/Motorcycle Parts, etc) No use in buying something cheap that you are going to have to replace.

...but that's just me.

I've seen Jvello's in person and it's definately worth the money. Just a long wait to get it since it's coming from china

I just ordered this tail light about 8hrs ago as a matter a fact. When it comes in from hong kong in about 2 weeks Ill let ya know how easy it is to install along with pictures if I can remember too. I keep yall updated on the quality of it. $30 bucks isnt to big of a hit if it doesnt work well, hell Ill just put new and brighter LEDs in it if they go out quickly.

damn you got me even more excited to get it! looks sick dude. I just finished my fender eliminator kit for my bike so I dont have turn signals anymore. I should have my tail light in about 2 weeks. How long did it take for you to get your light shipped in from china?

damn that sucks. I hope that doesnt happen to me. I was thinking about doing that same thing with the wires.

Have any of your LEDS gone out yet, and is it full LED tail light or just a bulb that shines onto fake LEDs to get it a real LED look?

#15 ·
No bulb, real LED's and I haven't had any problems with my LED's since I've installed it. I just found it to be a lot easier to cut the connectors and wire them in but that's just my personal choice.

Personally I was willing to take the risk and only spend $30 as it's not that big of a deal to me if it turns out to be a dud buy. As of right now I'm pretty pleased with it.

yah I saw it and it looked pretty legit so i figured I would try it out.

haha yeah. I got 3 parts currently for my bike in the mail. Im getting to antsey lol

#19 ·
I have 3 parts that should be in tomorrow and just ordered a 4th! I can't wait bc one of the items that is suppose to be in tomorrow is my new handle bars and I'll get to install my new bar ends and grips as well! a nice 3-in-1 mod for me!

Edit: a lil mod that I did the other day, painted the Ninja matching blue (brake reservoir). The bar ends I bought also have Ninja on them that I painted matching blue as well that I'll be installing once I get the new handle bars in.

I dont have the fancy resivor cap for my bike haha. and I got a new exhaust coming in, HIDs, and obviously my integrated tail light. I might paint my handle bars black so they wont be so noticeable. Im also considering cutting down the stock windsheild so it wont be so long. Dont know how to cut it and how low to cut it though

are your new handle bars going to be clip ons?

#21 ·
I bought the LSL superbike lows from ninja650shop's winter sale.. not too expensive of a mod but hopefully it'll give me that little bit of an aggressive lean that I'm looking for.

That cap only cost me $8, as did the new bar ends I bought. Cheap mod and it looks pretty good IMO.

I just bought some HID bulbs.. not true HID kit but it definitely changed the brightness and I'm happy with it.. only spent $15 for the bulbs so we'll see how they work out.

I'm probably going to be buying my exhaust next. My LSL handlebars, ZG DB Short Light Smoked wind screen, and Ermax rear hugger should be in tomorrow and I just ordered light smoked turn signals for the front that should be in 5-12 days.

wait till I got my dan moto in. Ill tell you how it sounds and it only cost me $130 for the titanium one. how much was your windscreen and handle bars?

#24 ·
haha dude I hate you. I just ordered the zg short DB windscreen and the LSL sport bars. ARe the LSL bars the ones your ordered and the ones that everyone talks about on here?

sucks that I had to order the short db light smoke though since the dark smoke isnt on sale. I guess Ill be spray painting it haha

#25 ·
Ouch that's a drag lol.. I didn't even catch that the dark smoked wasn't on sale. A lot of people talk about the LSL superbike low's along with the Sport bar kit.

But yes I did order the LSL superbike low's and the tracking info says they should be in tomorrow! I got the standard silver though.

As far as spray painting the wind screen darker you should consider using "night shade" rather than just black spray paint unless you want it completely blacked out looking.

#26 ·
I got some night shades left over, I herd that it turns purple though. But are the LSLs the same as the sport bar kit pretty much?

are the LSLs the only handlebar kit that ninjashop sells other then clip ons?

The angle of the bars are different between the Sport Bars and LSL Low Bars. The LSL's are lower than stock and have some "pulback" to them. The Sport Bars are designed to mimic the feel and control of Clip-Ons (even lower, more "pullback") without the modifications that Clip-Ons require.

We also have the Bikemaster Drag Bars, those are much more of a "Flat-Bar" which some people find uncomfortable on longer rides.

They sell the bikemaster drag bars too but I personally don't think I'd like the positioning of them though.

I had a friend who used nightshade on his front turn signals to turn them to a dark smoke look and he's also used it on his Mustang and I haven't heard any problems of turning purple but then again that's one person.

I don't believe the LSL low bars are as low as the Sport Bar Kit and also don't have as aggressive of positioning. My friend actually has the Sport Bar Kit on his 650R.. when my shipment comes in tomorrow maybe I can get him to come by with his bike and I'll sit my bars up to his and get some pictures taken.
