2017 Ninja 650- Is my bike still running to hot? Should I take it back to the dealer?

I purchased a new 2017 Ninja 650. It was running to hot. It was taken into the shop. The temp gauge was going as high as this pic just running in neutral for 1-2 minutes. The temp was not hot outside. They agreed that it is running to hot. It took them over a week, but they replaced the following parts under warranty.

Tested cooling system to not be working
Replaced Thermostat
Replaced Thermoswitch
Topped off coolant

I got the bike back today. The temp is 37-40 degrees outside I was riding. While riding the temp has 3-4 bars on it. While stopped for only a minute or so the temp always goes up as high as in the pic here. 1 high from max temp. The bike also smells like it's just simply hot. The fans do turn on and run constantly until 1 of the temp bars goes away. Then it quickly heats back up to the temp showing the high amount of bars. It just hovers between this but is usually on the high side. The bike is being ridden like a baby. I don't think it went above 6-7k RPM.

I'm off work for a bit. Should I just bring it back to them again? If I leave the bike in neutral and they go outside they will see the temp mostly at the high mark and then go down 1 bar sometimes. Or is this normal and I shouldn't worry about it at all? What is the bike going to do when it's 95 degrees outside? It had this many bars before when they said it was running to hot.

You really need to know what the operating temperature is supposed to be, and whether it is operating at that temperature.

The fact that the fan kicks in and the temp drops means it is not overheating. Might just be the way the gauge functions, or might be a problem. Won't know without actually measuring the tempurature.

Is there an easy way to measure the temperature? It showed these temps before and they came to the conclusion that the cooling system wasn't working. The gauge shows it almost the same temp. 1 bar different. It seems strange to have a gauge if it's almost always at or near the top? It was also only 40 degrees during this ride. If the bike is cold and I turn it on in neutral, the fan is turning on and the temp at high in only a few minutes. I haven't had a Ninja 650 before, so I'm not certain if this is normal.

It isn't normal from other bikes I've ridden though.

If the bike isn't moving, it is not uncommon to heat up and can come on rather quickly.

What is it doing when you are riding in the 40 degree weather?

If in doubt, you should bring it back. If dealer says normal, you should call Kawasaki customer support and ask them where the temp gauge normal runningbtemo position should be.
