this process looks ok in the pics, but i'm a lil skeptical of it in person. personally, if i were to do this, i would pull the forks and install rather than slicing down the pvc down the middle.
it's a good idea, but it just seems a lil rigged to me.

i have another plan for blacking out my forks. if the rain ever lets up for more than a day at a time, maybe i could try it out

Well here's the PVC finished project painted same color as bike. It took about an 45m + paint.
All in all looks like it's supposed be this way!
By by gold!!!!!!

not bad at all. did you use the same process as posted above?

Yep same process. I just happened to have everything already in my shop so I went for it.
Measure twice cut once.
I don't think it would be posible to do this any other way. Im pretty shure the pvc wouldn't slide over the fork tubes. Besides the split is almost unnoticeable, if you're not looking for it you would nener see it.
Like I said in the post I decided to paint it to keep the flo and make it look more natural.

so what keeps the pvc keep from sliding down on the forks?

you're a VAG owner as well as a zed too, huh?
taste, we has it.

The only piece that could slide is the small 1 1/2 in piece at the bottom so i put a piece of 3m double sided tape between the fork and PVC.

Ya always wanted a jetta.
Got a 2011 and now regret it, it's been in the shop more than on the road!
Just got a letter in the mail yesterday for a recalled wire harness! I figured they would have fixed the electrical problems in the 2011's but guess not!

That does look really good, nice work

Personally I love the gold but if you are going for a blacked out look this looks great

Well done on thatbalcked out z ! I just bought an 06 z1000 , i need some advice on where to get aftermarket wheels. I had a 04 gsxr before but i love the z , it seems more difficult tofind parts. I just got out of the marines and now i have spare time to ride and enjoy life. Any advice on after market parts will be greatly appreciated. also any good suggestions on a full exhaust system ?
